How to set a default selection in a single choice field?

When my form opens I do not want the single choice option field to have any selection.  Right now it opens with the last selection of the list chosen.  

How do I make this form open with no selection in this field?  Thanks.

The form opens with #8 selected in field nine but this is in error.  I need the form to open with nothing selected in this field.

Is this always the case with single choice fields?

For testing purposes I have marked the first item to be checked by default.  However, I hope this does not have to be permanent.

You will need to select the blank option under the "Select by default".

If that doesn't work, please try creating a new single choice field and paste the selection value you have on the original field into the new field and see if that changes the default selection.

I tested after following your instruction.  After any instance of using the form in a browser the next time the form is opened the previous entry is preselected, not the blank as you indicated.  I added an additional item, marked it as "Selected By Default".  The behavior is the same.  The next time the form is opened whatever was selected the last time the form was used, is preselected in the new instance.  Do you foresee any solution to this?  Thanks.

Probably the blank selection did not save due to browsers cache issues, I would suggest you clearing your browser cache.

I went ahead and selected the blank option, so that field now loads without any default selection. Please check again, and let us know if you need more help.
