How to see number of items left in the inventory widget without showing them on the form

Is there a way to show how many items are left in the inventory widget without having to show them on the form?  I'd like to have the form designer see how many are available at any time.

As I mentioned there it is not possible to see how many items are left in the Inventory widget if the Hide Quantity option is set to Yes. You can change the Hide Quantity option to No to check how many items left and then change it back to Yes.
