Submission Date - Update on edit

    Hi JotForm,

I would like to request a feature or widget which updates to tell us the last submitted date on a form. The submission date field only updates on the first submission.

Are you able to fix that so it updates on edited submissions too? If not please provide a solution to this problem.

    Thank You

The submission date column keeps the date when the form was originally submitted. If you want to have a date that updates each time the submission is submitted in edit mode, you can add a date field which you can hide, and setup to be automatically updated with the current date:

    Hi,

This does not work if you have the setting [Clear hidden Fields on submit] enabled.

I need a better solution than this as we need the other hidden fields on the form cleared

The "Clear hidden fields on submit" setting works on fields that are hidden through conditions only, the ones hidden from their properties will not be affected.

    Great thanks for your help.

Could you please help with another question I have regarding the autocomplete widget.

We currently have hundreds or forms and most of them use our autocomplete fields. All of them need to be updated manually when a single new name is added or removed from our contacts. This is usually a 3+ hrs job each time.

Is there a way we can populate autocomplete fields options using an API or linking it to a central JotForm list etc?

This is extremely important for us.

    Thank You

I'm glad you're all set on this one. Your last question was moved to a separate thread to avoid confusion:

I'll reply to you there shortly.

    Hi Guys,

I tested this and it does not work.

    When you go to edit a submission: https://www.jotform.com/edit/{{SUBMISSION ID HERE}}

Then you will notice that the date field attempts to fill in the [Current] date but then fails to do so and prefills the last value.
I assume this is because its prefilling the previous form entry into the field.

    Please advise.

    Thank You

I made several tests and this will not work because the date was already entered when the submission was submitted.

I will raise a feature request to our developers to see if the submission date can be updated when the submission is edited or if the new column can be added to the submission page that will capture the date of the last edit. However, please note that we can not provide you the exact time when and this will be implemented.

For now, I can only suggest you to add a date field to your form and disable the past and future dates. The field should also require. In this case, when the submission is edited there will be an error message shown inside of the field and the user that is editing the submission will have to select the today's date.

Thanks. This is a high priority request for us. I know this is a big issue for many other JotForm users as well.
