How to avoid response emails landing in the junk mail folder?

Asked by torontobirthdaymagician on October 10, 2012 at 05:03 PM

    Hi,

When someone fills out my jot form the message is sent to my email. When I reply to the email it can often goes to peoples junk mail folder. On the other hand when someone emails me directly and I reply to them that does not seem to be the case since I am replying to an email that they initiated.

Is there anyway that I can customize my jotmail folder to ensure that when I reply to someone my email will get to their inbox and not their junk folder.

    Thanks,
    Brent

Can you please try configuring your email notification like that shown in the screenshot?

It may help. You should also ask the people replying to your form to put your email address into their safe senders list.

Spam filters can be hard to predict and every email provider will use different algorithms.

I got around this by creating a field with my support desk email, I named the form field using my actual email address.

Then in the dropdown example above where it sends "Sender Email" you should see an option appear with name of the email field you just created, of course, your survey prospects can't even see this field since it's hidden.

But what it does is it get's rid of the "noreply" which most email clients and third party apps such as support desks, like Zendesk, which I use, recognise as spam and replaces that with a real genuine email.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

Suggestion to Jotform: why not just add functionality to add our own "From" email...currently like in the example above, it's actually NOT possible to add your own "from" email.

Which is what I think is the REAL question being asked here.

Anyways, been using Jotform for like forever, you guys ROCK.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your input;

why not just add functionality to add our own "From" email...currently like in the example above, it's actually NOT possible to add your own "from" email.

    - That's how everything works with us. This is also to ensure that the email address is valid and to avoid spams.

Anyways, been using Jotform for like forever, you guys ROCK.

    - Thank you for the great feedback. Our pleasure to help.

    Thanks and Cheers!
