How to change field names?

I changed the unique name in field details but is there a way for these unique names to reflect in the calculations drop down? See below... it is very hard to determine what field to choose from this list without changing the names.

It does not seem to be possible. Every field has already 3 names (id for css, one unique to pre-populate and the third one for the dropdown that you have mentioned above. By the way, it is the same to the one you called it in your form). 

But they are going one by one as they are located in your form, so my recommendation is to count them :)
