Can I create custom widgets with JotForm?

Hi there,

I'm still looking at Jotform for making our language test. However, I'd like to set up some custom widgets.

My questions is: how do I create a widget which is editable later on?

For instance when I ask the Google Analytics widgets it automatically ask for some simple fields.

The reason I'm asking is that I want to set up some "difficult" language questions. I'd like to set up the tech behind the curtains and add different languages and correct answers in the front-end of Jotform.

Is there any way to achieve this?

You can create your own widgets which you can use with JotForm via https://developers.jotform.com/myapps. Through here, you can also create your own apps which you can integrate with your forms here via API.

Where is the part where the "input" fields/ settings of the widget are detected?

Would you kindly elaborate further on your last response. I am trying to figure out what your response meant or challenge you are facing.

The fields you create for your widget shall automatically appear once loaded. However, it will not be recognized right away when making a submission. You will need to include the custom widget API to be picked up by the form. You can check out the API from this page: http://developers.jotform.com/widgets 

In addition, since there are only very few support members who respond here in the forum with in-depth code and technical know-how on widgets and app integrations, I recommend to please submit your request via api@jotform.com and ask for assistance there. The development team will gladly provide you guidance and assistance on creating your widget.
