Mike,
Assuming that the form you're working on is the one titled "Cruiser Final Rally 2012"
1. Add two hidden boxes to your form. We'll use these later as the pseudo autoresponder's Sender Name and Address details
2. Set your name and email as default values for these boxes, respectively3. Create a new notification for your form
4. Give it a unique name to identify it as a pseudo-autoresponder
5. Enter {email11} in the Recipient E-mail field. This will be dynamically replaced by the user's email address upon form submission/edit. This tag ({email11}) can also be found on your notification's email body.
6. On the Sender Name and Address fields, select the prefilled hidden boxes you have added to the form from Step 1 and 2.7. Finish your notification/pseudo-autoresponder
8. Save your formThis new email template can also replace your original autoresponder, but the content of the original autoresponder needs to be copied on this template's body.

Hi ,
sorry for the delay in trying this out.
Unfortunately, it didn't work, when I tried entering {email11} in the recipient field I got an error "email address should be valid".
see screen shot below - any suggestions?
cheers
Mike

Mike,
The system isn't really designed to accommodate this a workaround, or "hack", so to speak.
Simply ignore that warning message, click Next then finish the autoresponder. It should still work as intended.
Otherwise, let me know so I can check it myself.

I may have found the answer myself, although I would be interested to see what you have to say:
If I enter a valid email address on the recipient field followed by {email11} ie as if you wanted more than one person to receive the auto-respond notification, then it works!
Its a work-around but not ideal, as I now need to include a working (but unimportant) email address for this to work.
comments?
cheers

Hi Guys
I tried ignoring the warning, and it would not allow me to click "next".
No matter, I have something that works, and it works very well, as I can allow people to amend their submissions as many times as they like.
It has the added benefit that when they receive the "notification" email (pretending to be a confirmation email), it places
EDIT:
at the start of the Email subject line, so they can easily recognise the email with the amended info.
Thanks again, fantastic, helpful quick support as always!

I am trying this work around but I do not have the option to put in {edit11} - the field only has a drop down option with elements from the form itself. Looking in the HTML form I see {edit8} but that is not an option to select - however I can see it is associated with the registrant's email so I selected that. I tested it by updating my own submission and I never received this 'edit' confirmation. Does this workaround still work?

@Christianassociates,
Yes, it is still possible. Please note that the work around is based on the Email Notification (Notifier). In other words, you will need to use the Notifier instead of the Autoresponder, this way you will be able to add the field {tag} into recipient field.
Please give it a try and let us know if you need any further assistance.
