Using the user email in the header of mail

    When I receive a Paypal transaction email from Paypal, the "from" email address is formatted like this:

    johndoe@sky.com <@sky.com>johndoe@sky.com>@paypal.com>@sky.com>, @paypal.com>@sky.com> (sent by sendmail@paypal.com)

    so I can simply click "reply" to write back to the user johndoe. JotForm, instead, have this address:

    JotForm <noreply@jotform.com>

    so, if I click reply, I actually write to JotForm blind address, not to the user. Sometime I'm wrong and automatically I do this, and my email come back. Can you implement a system similar to Paypal, so we can simply click reply to answer to a form sent?

    Yes, you can change the Reply-To email. Open your form on the Form Builder and then:
    1. Click on "Setup and Share" tab,
    2. Click on "Email Alerts",
    3. Select "Notification",
    4. Click on "Reply-to and Recipient Settings",
    5. Change "Sender E-mail" at the top.

    BTW, there's a very bad side-effect: all forms now come to me as "SPAM" (detected first by the server, and after by my email client).

    That's not supposed to happen since we only change the reply-to address, not the from address.

    I understand that it's unusual, but consider that also the test email sent through your "Compose email" window has arrived as SPAM (with the text "[SPAM]" also added at the beginning of the email subject).

    That's the exact same email as the real emails so that's normal. It is just useful to test your changes quickly.

    I've never received Jotforms as SPAM before. I include the email header for your attention (it seems it's been tracked by a program named SpamAssassin).

    The email header has a list of reasons why it thinks this is spam:

    *  1.1 DNS_FROM_OPENWHOIS RBL: Envelope sender listed in bl.open-whois.org.

    Open Whois is closed so it is impossible for us to be listed there. Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to remove the open whois check from SpamAssassin. You must have a very old installation of SpamAssassin.
    http://www.dnsbl.com/2009/08/status-of-blopen-whoisorg-dead.html

    *  3.2 FH_DATE_PAST_20XX The date is grossly in the future.

    Our Dates are EST. We send 1 million emails every month. I have never heard such problem. I think this also could be a server configuration issue.

        *  1.0 BAYES_60 BODY: Bayesian spam probability is 60 to 80%
        *      [score: 0.6880]

    This means words contained on your emails have high priority of also used in spams. So, you might try to change some of the words. If you have things like "Sale" or "Discount" or "Viagra" etc. That could be the reason.

        *  0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message
        *  0.9 HTML_FONT_FACE_BAD BODY: HTML font face is not a word

    You can change the emails to Text Emails:
    1. Click on "Setup and Share" tab,
    2. Click on "Email Alerts",
    3. Select "Notification",
    4. Click on "Switch to Text Mode".

    Abstract: first of all, please consider that I use this form (ZS Feedback, you can see it in my account) since about 1 year, and I've never received before SPAM notifications: these are begun a couple of days ago, when I've changed the "reply-to".

    I don't use SpamAssassin; probably it's a service of the internet provider, but keep in mind the abstract.Dates: again, please consider the abstract.I don't use sale, discount, viagra, etc.: it's the same form that I use since 1 year without SPAM notifications.HTML: I always have used this form in HTML mode, without SPAM notifications.
    You wrote me many reasons, but it doesn't seems to me that these may explain what is changed from a couple of days. Please search for a reason why the problem it's happened for the first time when I've changed the "reply-to", and only in that moment.

    Thanks for helping.

    I didn't wrote those reasons. They are the reasons your spam filter provides as a reason for tagging this email as spam.

    So, if this has changed after you changed the reply-to address that might be the tipping point. You can try changing it back and see if that helps.
