    Hi there,

I have just discovered Jotform and I am glad to say it will transform the work I carry out in my market research company. We love how easy it is to build beautiful custom forms.

I have a specific question regarding the widgets.

I am currently specifying a project for a client. We want people to take pictures and within that picture highlight something positive and negative by dropping either a green or red box on the image they have just captured.

Is it possible to have custom widgets created by your team? This is something which would be hugely valuable for us.

I am still discovering Jotform and I expect I will be subscribing to a silver package in the next week or so.

I look forward to hearing from you!

    Best regards,

    Iain

    Hi,

Please check this demo form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/52071860014950

Is that what you're trying to achieve? If yes, please try adding this to your form: https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/draw_on_image

If not, let us know by providing more details of what you're trying to create. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you an ETA when the request will be implemented.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

Thanks or getting back to me so quick!

Unfortunately it doesn't fit my needs.

I want my researchers to go into a store, take a picture of a shelf of products, then I want them to drop a pin or a highlighting box over something which sticks out to them. It would also be good if there was text box where they could explain their reason for pinpointing what they did.

I would like to have this forwarded to your developers. Is this request specific enough or do you require more details?

I've included a screenshot of a prototype. I needed I can provide video of the UI.

    Thanks, Iain

Please note that in "Draw On Image" widget, user will be able to upload their own image and draw on it to highlight something. If I understand your requirement correctly, you want them to be able to add a textbox to add text. Is that correct?

Please confirm if this is what you want to achieve and we will create a feature request ticket and forward it to our backend team.

We will wait for your response.

    Thanks for your help.

The "draw on Image" widget isn't really suitable for my needs. The following are my exact requirements.

-The user hits a capture icon on the screen. The photo they capture is presented in full view on their screen.

-They need to be able to drop a pin or box to highlight something positive or negative. Ideally there would be a green pin/box for positive and red for negative.

-Once the pin(s) is dropped a dialog box pops up under the screen. Here i need to be able to input a text title...."please explain what you like or don't like"......then the user types their explanation into the text box.

-When reported to csv. the image must show the pin(s) or boxes where the user dropped them.

The attached image is a good example of what im looking for.

Thank you for clarifying your concern.

To my understanding, you would like your respondents to have the ability to take a picture of something within the form where the photo taken will also be previewed. On the preview, the user would be able to highlight or mark things that are positive or negative on the image. Highlighting can either be by drawing on the image or dropping a box/pins (as shown in the image you shared with us). An input box should also appear at the bottom that your respondents can use to explain why they like or don't like what they have highlighted.

The respondents should also be able to upload the updated image in their submission.

Please confirm if I have understood your concern correctly so we may proceed in submitting it as a feature request. Again, please know that there is no guarantee that the feature will be implemented soon. But we can assure you that you will be notified right away in this thread for updates if there are any.

Yes, you have understood correct besides 1 thing.........

The only amendment I would make to the text above is that I would like a pin/box dropping rather than "freeform" drawing on the image.

    Thanks!

I am creating a feature request ticket and forwarding it to our backend team. Please note that creating a feature request ticket does not ensure that it will be implemented. It completely depends upon the feasibility and priority of our backend team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update on this.
