Thanks - I tried what was suggested but I am still taken to PayPal when I choose "checK"

You did not set your conditions correctly. You have to hide the PayPal Payment field when "Check" or "Voucher" options are selected.
You can set a condition that will show the PayPal payment field only when PayPal option is selected.
Here is my cloned form with a condition for the PayPal payment field:
Feel free to test it and clone it.
You should also move the payment type field above the PayPal payment field. And you also have to set product fields using a basic field that will be shown when "Check" or "Voucher" options are selected, if you want to allow your users to select products when using "Check" and "Voucher" options.
