I see only one Capcha widget. Is this capcha more effective then a random number entry?

Depends on its use, if you are trying to filter bots, then captcha widget would be very useful. May I know what your goal is or what you are trying to achieve with captcha and random number so we can provide you with an appropriate answer.
Looking forward for your response.

Hi...I guess I am trying to block bots and fake users. I just thought entering a string of numbers seems more difficult for a bot then checking a check box. But if the Google captcha prevents most bots then I will use that.
Thanks

Yes, Google Recaptcha does it better since those random image/numbers are not hosted on your Form and contains a very complex algorithm (managed by Google) for bots to read/decode.
Please let us know if you need anything.
Thank you.
