Possibility to have a widget that will calculate the distance based on a current location of the user.

We are using the Driving Distance widget.

    https://form.jotform.com/80639196322157

Is there an option to get the starting / from field to auto-populate where the user currently is?

If no autopopulation, can the from field be used to pull a query string parameter so the user only has to enter a destination address?

We're using the widget to calculate a hay shipping estimate, and would like the user to have to enter the least amount of information.

    Thank you!

I'm afraid that it is not possible to do that with widget since widgets are loading in separate iFrame and you cannot pass data to them.

I tried to figure out some workaround that will auto calculate, but I wasn't able to.

You can either pick up user's location or do the calculation with the data they enter manually.

We could forward this to our backend team if you wish, for a possible implementation.

    Thank you!

Hi...thank you for the reply!  How can we pickup the user's location?  Is there a widget for that?

Please forward to your backend team so we can see what is fully possible.

We will go live this week with our form, as we expect to get at least 20+ submits / day.

    Thank you!

You could use https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/get_visitor_location widget, which you can make hidden in the form so your users will not see it, but it will pick up the location-based data.

I forwarded this to our backend team for further review, we cannot give you an ETA of the possible implementation, but we will keep you posted if such feature becomes available.

    Thank you!
