    Google Drive integration behaviour: creation of a new file and sometimes turning back to the old one

    It's about a few month I've known jotform platform and I'm spreading it out 'cause it's really fantastic.

    1- I often read the forum for new questions, but didn't find anything about this: I've noticed that some little change on my form or (at a different time) some little change on the google file can sometimes cause the creation of a new file in my Jotform directory.

    Better explanation:

    I am used to keep the Jotform file in google drive and move it to another folder where I need it.

    Sometimes I need to make some little change on this file and 2 or 3 of theese times it happened that the new submissions generated a new file. So it was an occasionally event.

    I observed the same thing on the other side when changing some little thing on the form.

     

    One time I moved the old google file to the trash can (not erasing it) and another time I moved it to another folder and it happened that a little change on the form or on the new file, caused the form to come back to inject data to the old file.

    That convinced me to take into account both the files and exchange them on occurrence.

    2- I don't know if anyone is interested in, or if you know this, but I would like you to know that I was able to implement 2 forms on the same google file (1 by jotform and 1 by Google) ...working together in perfect harmony ;-) ... (pretty song, isn't it?) with 2 different mail notification system. Obviously I am not talking about the above form: it was a preliminary form I used for about 2 months.

    Thank you for pointing this out!

    It is great to know that it is possible to connect a single Google Doc to two different forms!

    As per the behaviour of the integration, it has come to our attention that such things are possible when editing the file that is created with the integration.  Some changes(editing the headers or location of the file) break the integration causing the creation of a new file upon the next submission.  

    This should not happen is the location or the headers of the file are not changed.

    1- Not a single Google doc, but a single sheet!!!

     

    2- Yes but the strange thing is that it came back to the old one: the one supposed to have a broken integration, even if in another folder, different from the original Jotform folder.

    ;-)
