Date Field: is it possible to get the date in more than one format.

Hey,

I'm working on a form. Our clients are trying to input their date of birth and phone number and the form will only accept one precise type of formatting. Is it possible to have someone input, as a date for instance, 'Jun 5, 1955' or 06 05 1955' and both of them being accepted?

Same goes for phone numbers. Is there some tolerance level we can set for that?
