Pass Form Data to Another Form

I have used this type of thing before plenty of times without issue, however, here on jot form it's giving me trouble. I have NO idea why...

For example: If the user put $100 on form1 on form2 this shows up PGfIZV74V+aok6VuVt/oWRO4+d8I2XwxZMh+dErWN3ty2l5fOEdefrjmpVs8WOk23uOPhpbDQhZokpk9ytWJD2xilyhgZt2vhzNzxHrVlx/8gsV+BJ9S8jr+qG2cHFgZwRtZ9jEXU/AXFjmn06166Tftq9djwWVa5p5M86AYbfi1bVKgApnAKWghAqnrhcxkeoQHyJduR2zT2LomUPaWf2D4zTgyd6newgoG5wHbaGi8oD7XL9cA8D0wDn3n5Q4kaX+40PjquRIBFXWU2nB454yGJa2C3shlepldIQuN8/RuMaIX7j1j8NI5V0rUJVFIpA8kLIrqcIeHZo5XQtdTwA==

instead of showing $100 like it should. what the heck is going on?? I named my fields both the same names on form 1 and 2 to make it simplier... is this causing the issue or?

I created two forms to test the issue you reported but I could not replicate it. The correct value is passed to the second form.

There is the link of my first form: https://form.jotform.com/80844778227973

    Feel free to test it.

Please provide the links us your forms, so that we can test them. Also tell us the exact name of the field that is causing an issue.

Inside of the following guide you can find how to pass the data form one form to another.

    I need to send

    https://form.jotform.com/80774168389169

    to

    https://form.jotform.com/80841038584157

These are the fields I need to send over:

Gift Cards Retailer to field with placeholder gift card retailer

Gift Card Account Number to field with placeholder accnt #

    Current Balance to Current Balance

    Card1Offer (hidden) to Payout Amount

I need those for all 5

Did you need that or the actual ID's that are used in the parameters if you need that then here they are...

actually ill just show you what I entered and you tell me if you see anything wrong with it?

    https://form.jotform.com/80841038584157?Retailer1={Retailer1}&Retailer2={Retailer2}&Retailer3={Retailer3}&Retailer4={Retailer4}&Retailer5={Retailer5}&accnt1={accnt1}&accnt2={accnt2}&accnt3={accnt3}&accnt4={accnt4}&accnt5={accnt5}&bal1={bal1}&bal2={bal2}&bal3={bal3}&bal4={bal4}&bal5={bal5}&pay1={pay1}&pay2={pay2}&pay3={pay3}&pay4={pay4}&pay5={pay5}&totalpay={totalpay}

    I even then just tried

    https://form.jotform.com/80841038584157?bal1={bal1}

thinking maybe it was too much or I messed up along the way but still a no go...

Maybe because the fields are not the same type or something?

Basically, I am a company who purchases gift cards and this is the form to find out how much they can receive for them...

    incase you were wondering.

Your form is encrypted and because of that encrypted data is passed from the first form to the second form. The encrypted data can only be decrypted with the key on the submission page or inside of the email Notification. It is not possible to decrypt the data inside of the second form.

If you want to pass the data from the first form to the second form, you will have to turn OFF Form Eruption in your first form.

More about encrypted forms, you can find inside of this guide:

If you turn off the encryption, this should work correctly as demonstrated by my colleague above.

I had to turn encryption back on because I am doing stuff with my submissions... whenever I turned it off the answers were jumbeled letters.

This is because the submissions you received while the encryption was ON need a private key to be decrypted and readable.

If you turn the encryption OFF, then the submissions page will not ask for a private key and the encrypted (unreadable) data will be shown.

also is there a way to export to xls with encryption on...

Here is a snippet from Encrypted Forms and How to Use Them.

    IMPORTANT:

Some of the features that are not available for Encrypted Forms are:

    1. PDF Downloads.
    2. Reports (this includes downloading Excel and CSV files from within the Submissions Page).
    3. Emails: Email Notifications and Autoresponder (usually emailed to the form submitters).

All server side gathered and processed data, can not be retrieved in encrypted forms because your private key is never sent to our servers.

So, unfortunately, it is not possible to export the decrypted data to an Excel sheet.

I suggest you clone your form which is encrypted and turn the encryption off on the cloned form and use that form from now on.

How to Clone an Existing Form from a URL

You can leave the encryption on in the current form so you are able to see the decrypted data but do not share it anymore with the users. Use the new form which has encryption turned off.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    Yeesssss FINAALLLYYYY...

Cloning the form worked. That was so odd, it was like with the original form parts of it was stuck in encryption mode? Like the new submissions could be viewed through your viewer just fine, but in my drop box integration it was showing the answers as long strings of encrypted text... same with the parameters (the old ones obviously were, but the new ones were too.)  When I cloned the form though it fixed everything and now none of the answers, anywhere, are being displayed as the encrypted string.

Thank you very much for helping me, I am happy it was something so simple.

I would have died if I had to redo it all lol. I for sure would have never thought to simply clone the form. What a strange thing. :P
