Select Droplist value by passing in URL variable

Hi!  I have a droplist in a form that I would like to pre-select by passing in a URL variable, so that I can make a Barcode that will take my form filler directly to the form and pre-select the scanned item from the list so that they do not have to hand select an item from a long list...

Is this possible?
