    Can submit form with required fields missing

    Asked by cflights on October 29, 2012 at 03:52 PM

    Hi, I have a form that I have pasted the source code into a page and have the conditional elements in a separate JS file. All appears to be working fine exscept that the form can be submitted even though not all the required fields are completed. It is quite a complex form but only has 4 required fields. It is almost that the Script cannot keep up if the form is submitted quickly ? The form can be viewed on a live website at the URL noted.

    Thanks in Advance

    Thank you for contacting us.

    The problem is most probably related to script conflicts. Can you try to use an iFrame version instead? The iFrame does not conflict with anything on the page. It should solve the problem.

    If this is not an option for you, we may try to investigate the issue further.

    Hi Mike_T, thanks for the reply but the Iframe solution is not useable for me as I need access to the code on the page to make a few changes such as adding in a copy field facility and adding an accept terms check box.

    Any other ideas much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

    It's quite hard to troubleshoot since you are using joomla script. We'll see if we can find a workaroud other than using iframe. We'll let you know here once we come up with solution. Stay tuned.

    Thanks!

    @cflights

    Try isolating the form source codes inside a blank page on your server (with essential HTML tags, of course) then embed that page on your site using iFrame tags.

    This should prevent conflicts from arising, yet still give you the freedom to customize the codes to suit your needs.

    Let us know what you think.
