    Form will not show properly... Safari ios6

    Asked by guest_23031356468048 on October 30, 2012 at 02:08 AM

    I've been making forms with you for years with little problems!

    I'm trying to create a form for my site and it wil not show properly on my iphone 4s with ios6 safari or chrome.

    It looks fine with safari and firefox on my laptop mac or pc.

    I'm designing this page in iweb. Doesn't matter if I use the simple code you provide or the iweb code you provide still doesn't work.

    I've tried to clear caches many times...

    If you click on the link I provided you should be able to see it correctly (with the field names to the left of the fields)

    Hi,

    It might something to do with the label alignment since the form label alignment changes to "top" when viewed on iPhone.

    Try injecting the following CSS codes to your form and let us know the result.

    .form-label-top{

    width: 130px !important;

    float: left !important;

    display:inline !important;

    }

    Adjust the width value if needed.

    Guide:

    Let us know if this doesn't work for you. Thanks!

    I tested your link on an Ipad 4s live emulator (safari), and it shows just fine. Or at least this is what I see.

    Can you please tell me if this is not the look you are looking for?

    Hi there,

    Please update your CSS codes to this or just retake again your form embed code as I've already injected this CSS codes to your form. I just cant test your URL since your are embedding the full source code.

    Just let us know if this doesn't help. Thanks!

    .form-label-top, .form-label-left{

    width: 130px !important;

    float: left !important;

    display:inline !important;

    }

    .form-all {

    width: 650px !important;

    }

    Thank you!

    Much better, but the bold "field names" are not coming though. They work on a loptop browser but not on ios.

    I've now used the short code so you can test if you try again.

    Great! I can now view the updated one.

    For the bold font, try declaring font-weight:bold !important; on the label classes. This may help. Example:

    .form-label-top, .form-label-left{

    width: 130px !important;

    float: left !important;

    display:inline !important;

    font-weight:bold !important;

    }

    Sorry but you've added it incorrectly. Update your CSS codes to this.

    .form-label-top, .form-label-left{

    width: 130px !important;

    float: left !important;

    display:inline !important;

    font-weight:bold !important;

    }

    .form-all {

    width: 650px !important;

    }

    Just let us know if the bold property doesn't help. Thank you.

    Ok, thank you. Unfortunately I can't sign in on my smart phone with safari or chrome to make these changes while I'm not at my computer... Because your site doesn't view properly. S

    Maybe you should make it work with safari. I realize we are a tiny part of your life, but they're standards based...

    Unfortunately, form builder is not working correctly in mobile Safari due to browser limitation. That problem is not related to the form builder itself, and some update from Apple may solve the issue (as they did with Multimedia Uploads in iOS6).

    However, our Developers have been already informed about that issue, and I hope that someday they will release some fix for that. Also, we are going to launch a new version of My Forms page soon.

    Hope you sort it out soon! : )

    Luckily it wass pretty much fixed with a little extra code (in my case)!

    The fact that we can't log into jotform with safari looks like you just need to do some tweeking on your home page. It's just not drawing it right.

    Thx

    By the way what is the "browser limitation" that Safari suffers?

    I hope that login issue will be solved once we release the new My Forms page (it is almost ready), but still we can not guarantee that actual form builder will be right on the mobile device.

    In the meantime you may try our iPhone App to browse your submissions.

    You may check "Chapter 3. Getting Compatible" on safaribooksonline to find out information about mobile Safari limits.

    Thank you :)
