I have a simple form with a file upload for images. I want to automatically resize / compress the image being uploaded. For example like the google/facebook image uploaders.
I want to resize a 1900x1200 image to 800x600 (or similar) (either client side or server side)
how to achieve this?

Unfortunatelly there is no means to achieve this in the form builder. You can only dictate the limit in max 'file size' in MB of the uploaded image BUT not the image dimensions.
If you noticed, the upload field is not strictly an image uploader field. It allows uploading of other data format as well, i.e. documets.. so, that is the reason for the lack of image dimension property.
You will have to provide instructions (within the form or on a website if it is embedded) about the dimension size requirement for the image to be uploaded.
Hope this help.
