Hi, I've been trying out jotform and when I started a few days ago I was sure the dropdown form element was behaving as expected. However, now I'm seeing that all drop-downs (even on demo forms on your site) include an "empty line" choice at the top. Have I accidentally enabled an option or has the template behaviour for this form changed? I tried adding a new dropdown to my form and it's the same. Even the options settings allow me to choose the empty line as the default selection for the drop-down, but they don't let me turn it off. I have noticed that if the element is set to "required" then a user can still select the empty line but it shows a "This field is required" error.
Is this something that was always there and I just didn't notice at first?

I think you did not realize this feature before. The blank line is treated as an empty answer.
Also, you can write a text inside it in order to let people choose an answer.
So, the dropdown field is shown as in the below:
If you make required the field and select the blank option, you cannot pass the question because of it is evaluated as an empty answer.
Thank you for trying out the JotForm. If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask anytime.
