Why are my form views out of control?

According to your form view user guide, "The Preview will not be counted against your form views. It will also not count it if the form is viewed by yourself while you are logged in - even if the form is embedded on your website"

well, I've looked at my form view count, and it has been sky-rocketing, even though only 3 people have had access to view the form since I created it. Not sure how we've managed to view the form 3,000+ times within 4 days, especially since most of my views have been while I've been logged in and viewing the embedded form on my site. Seems very unrealistic. Why is this happening?

Is it possible that you're having your website with form embedded opened in any web development tool (like Dreamweaver for example)?

I reset your form views limit.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Yes, I did have the coding open in dreamweaver. We ended up using your script code to embed it on our site, but I had initially copied the full code over to dreamweaver and never closed out that document. Is that why the number was so high?

Yes, that could be the reason for views to skyrocket.

So, please try keeping the editor closed if you are not working in it and let us know if you experience any similar issues.

    Thank you!

Does the reset for the form views happen right away? It's still saying we're at 4,000+ views.

I've recalculated it for you, now at 92 only. Please check again.

Am I looking in the wrong spot? When I go into my form analytics, it is still saying we're at a crazy high number of 2000+.

I still don't understand how the form is collecting views that quickly. Do random people have access to our form? Only 5 people know about this form currently. There is no way between the 5 of us that we have viewed it 2,000+ times since you reset it last night.

Within the 3 minutes of writing this question, the views went up 25 more. What is going on?

I have checked the analytics for your form and it looks like all the views are coming from the same IP address (yours).

Please make sure that you don't have any window open where the form is embedded in your development environment.

I have reset the form views for your account one more time.

I hate to be a pest about this, but I still feel like there is some type of glitch with this view data. Every time I view the form once, it is counting as 2-3 views (you can see that even in your screenshot above)

... and while I'm still on the same form page (have not refreshed the page or anything), it is saying I viewed the form again every 1-3 minutes ALL day long. If I've never left the page and never refreshed it, how is it counting it as a new form view (or well, multiple form views since it's doubling or tripling the views for every one view)? That just doesn't seem right.

FYI I have no development environments open at all today and have not even viewed the form on the page I embedded it on. I only viewed the form through it's direct link.

I checked the logs and it seems that the views are generated from your IP address:

    And from Desktop:

I reset your views again, please try restarting your Desktop computer and (if possible) your router.

So we can see if the issue continues.

    Thank you!

I have restarted my computer. I will not be able to restart my router, though. Hopefully restarting the computer fixes things. I will keep an eye on it and let you know. Thank you for your help!
