    Good Thursday morning…

I followed the given instructions and made lots of changes to the conditions, but they have yet to take effect. The conditions that I’ve set aren’t working. Are you able to take a look at the form and provide me with some feedback? Thank you.

I've taken a look at your form and I can immediately see some probable causes to your problem but so that we can help you better could you please provide us with some more information as to the branching of conditions with your questions you are trying to create for your form? Once we have that information we will gladly be able to help you further with getting your conditions on your form working properly.

I would also like to recommend that you read the guide on Conditional Logic to better understand it incase you have not done so already.

    Hi,

We apologize for the delayed response. Your form is quite complex and very long, as it takes some time understanding the setup rules in the conditions.

I myself is in the process of understanding the form. And I do have a question -- can you please tell us the very first condition that you found that would not work?

Can you guide us on the steps that we can mirror to be able to replicate it.

On my end, my propose strategy is to start from zero(0) condition, and add one at a time, while testing them each time. When I do this, I will be able to pick the non-working condition rule when I add it and test.

    Will await for your response.

    Thanks.

Your Question: Can you please tell us the very first condition that you found that would not work?

Answer to Your Question: First page, last option – choose one – eight options in that one field: order services, apply for job, donate, purchase event tix, submit book proposal, pay bill, PayPal Item List, Purchasing Checklist

Choose one equals apply for a job, show employment/volunteer app

Choose one equals donate, show Proj RED

Choose one equals purchase event tix, show Rebecca Everlene Trust Company

Choose one equals submit book proposal, show Jeune Hope Content Group

Choose one equals pay your bill, show Payment Information

Choose one equals order services, show Choose one

Choose one equals View Item List, show PayPal Item List

Choose one equals Review Purchasing Checklist, show Purchasing Checklist

Here’s the first set of rules that aren’t working. I chose these because they are affiliated with the very first option on my form.

Question 2: Is there absolutely no way to apply a “print” button to a form without having the submit button visible?

Question 3: Will having the submit button and the page break (back & next options) together conflict?

I noticed that when the rule “show” is applied to specific headings on the form, the headings disappear altogether. Are you able to explain that? Thanks again for the assistance. http://www.jotform.us/form/23044885972160

    Tamara,

Your form is indeed complex. It will take a while to digest the information you have provided and come up with a definitive so I'll skip Question 1 for now.

Question 2: Is there absolutely no way to apply a “print” button to a form without having the submit button visible?

There is. Kindly refer to the solutions on this thread for more informatin:

    http://www.jotform.com/answers/77518-Is-there-a-way-to-put-only-a-Print-Form-Button-without-a-Submit-Button

Note: the second solution is what you probably need

Question 3: Will having the submit button and the page break (back & next options) together conflict?

No. Page break and submit button are 100% compatible.

    -----------------

I will get back to you later for answers on Question 2 and 3. Your patience is appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks for responding...

One more question... is there any way to change the settings so that when a user clicks submit, they will only be emailed the portion of the form that they completed, instead of the entire form that shows questions that don't apply to their situation? Thanks again and I look forward to hearing your answer about Question 1. Very interesting. Hoping to get this thing up and running soon. Have a great day!!!

Would it help if I applied numbers to each separate section of the form? I don’t mind doing that. Having options that are labeled similarly, and in some cases identically, can be a little confusing. But, I did it that way for the sake of uniformity. Hoping we can figure this out soon. I surely thought I had applied the conditions properly :0) Thanks again for the assistance.

    Hi,

"One more question... is there any way to change the settings so that when a user clicks submit, they will only be emailed the portion of the form that they completed, instead of the entire form that shows questions that don't apply to their situation? "

Unfortunatelly no. Unless you omitted the particular field in the email notification, they always be included even if they are empty.

"Would it help if I applied numbers to each separate section of the form? I don’t mind doing that."

You should do this. Simply putting a numerical "prefix" into your labels will guide you better in composing the conditions as you can exactly pick the correct label in the rules.

It is better in prefix(left side) because sometimes long labels would not fit in the text box when in the conditions wizard.

Please try applying the prefix idea and try to redo the conditions. It would be much faster doing it on your end since you are very familiar with your form already.

Update us on your progress when you can.

    Thanks.

    Jonathan…

A tech emailed me, asking for me to name the very first issue that I had with conditions playing out on the form, and I did that. Am I to understand that if there is an error with any of the stated conditions that succeed that first condition, none of the conditions will work?

I ask because this is the fourth time that I’ve redone conditions that didn’t populate via your server. The information has been double and triple checked. Obviously, if I’ve spent this much time communicating with your team and redoing things according to your specifications… something’s wrong somewhere. Am I to assume that your program can’t handle the project that I am trying to execute?

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Tamara,

You could be referring to me as the tech who had suggested that to send us feedback after you had redo the form's conditions setup. However, on your response to that request I could not see the part were you had stop at the very first condition where it was not working. When I checked your form, I see all the conditions intact. I had difficulty figuring out which of the condition is not working.

And I believe if just one condition is not right, it is mute already for all the other conditions, since there will be an existing issue within the form that a user will be bound to encounter.

I made the suggestion also to use numerical prefix on the labels that have similar names or at least those that start similarly.

Example, you have fields that have labels Full Name, Email, Address that appears in different section of the form.. if I am in the process of creating the conditions in the condition wizard, I will see this options appear several times, and you will understand the difficulty of picking the correct field Full Name, Email or Address. There is bound to be a mistake of picking the wrong field or even just repeating picking up the same.

If you name the labels like.. 1a Full Name, 1a Email, 1a Address, 2a Full Name, 2a Email and 2a Address.. isn't it its easier to add them in the condtion wizard because you will have the idea where the field was coming from and from which section/page of the form.

I also suggested that you were to try this and again get back to us on the 1st condition that would not work while adding and testing each at the same time.. if you stop at the very last condition you added were it did not work when you test, we can assist you immediately on that procees why that part of the condition would not work.

Thank you for understanding. I look forward to your response. I am sure this form, no matter how complex it is, but with the determination to complete it, it will succeed.

    P.S.

This is how I see your conditions

Please try not to add them all yet, just add one at a time and test the form. If the last condtion added failed on the test, give us feedback so we can see what was the last condition and figure out why that condition did not work

Please consider this.. it is how the repeating labels would appear when in the conditions wizard (you can click on the image to enlarge it)

    Jonathan…

Thank you for responding. I’ve added the numbers to create an outline that will hopefully help things get sorted out. If there’s anything more that I can do so that WE can fix this issue, please let me know. For the first set of conditions that I emailed over, none of them worked at all. That’s why I posed the question, asking whether or not having one error in the form would confuse your processor. At your earliest convenience, would you please review the form and let me know how I should proceed? Thank you.

Per my email at 9:38am this morning:

I am still online as of this time, and was able to open your message. I will assume that this is your latest encarnation of the form http://www.jotform.us/form/23044885972160 .

I will check this and provide feedback as soon as I can.

    Thanks.

    Hi Tamara,

On the 1st page and on the 1st condition setup...

Do you meant that when "3 Apply for a job or volunteer position" is selected and next button is click it should go to "3 Employment/Volunteer Application" page?

I checked and found that your condition will not work because..

It is not updated (it doesn't have the prefix in the equal value..see image below pointed by arrow)

AND in order to SKIP pages, the condition should not be SHOW/HIDE but SKIP TO PAGE instead.

This is only on the very 1st condition... we can get the idea from here how to proceed on the other conditions...

    You can test this form.

I strip all the conditions and added only the very 1st one. If you select option 3, it should SKIP to page 4 of the form.

Hope this help get you started. I am attempting to continue the other conditions but it would take time.

    Thanks.

I have another question… and thank you so much for being responsive as always. Whenever a field is added or subtracted, conditions shift? Is that so? Conditions aren’t permanently attributed to a specific field or category?

"I have another question… and thank you so much for being responsive as always. Whenever a field is added or subtracted, conditions shift?"

I think this happen because, -- since the rule could not find anymore the right value (the non prefix value), it tend to shift to the very 1st or top most value it can find.

I also noticed this behaviour when I was looking at the conditions of your form.. somehow the "equals to" value is not "Apply for a job or volunteer position" because it does not exist anymore.

You may want to clone my test form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/23067555758969 for you to see how I created the 1st condition.

    Use this guide How-to-clone-an-existing-form-from-a-URL

"I just spent more than two hours inputing conditions and I go back in the form and none of the changes that I’ve made are there. "

I am sorry for the inconvinience caused. But as mentioned earlier, this is a very complex form.. It would be much better if we can apply the conditions one at a time (just like how I did in my test form). Try to apply the condition one at a time then preview/test the form. If it fails, stop there and give us feedback. And we will clone your form to see the conditions and help you debugged it.

    Thanks.

I just went in and updated the conditions profiles (10th time :0) so that all of the numbers line up where they need to be… so the old verbiage is nonexistent, or should be at least. But, once again, none of the conditions are working, and majority of the headings that are affiliated with the conditions disappear when I preview the form.

Most, if not all of the conditions, are equals to or if filled. When if filled is chosen, the system reads that as if any of the options in that particular field are chosen? That’s the way I understood things anyway.

Thanks again for taking a peek at things. Looking for more feedback.

Even if the options shifted, when I click on the menu items in the first field, I should see something other than the employment application for all of them, and that’s not what I asked the system to do.

As I asked earlier… is this a project that your system can handle or that can be fixed? I’ve been trying to sort things out for 5 days when this should have been a half a day project. What’s wrong with the conditions settings? From what you’ve said, I shouldn’t be experiencing any issues if all of the numbers line up, nonetheless I am. I look forward to your response.

    Thanks

Is there anything else that you can suggest for resolving the conditions issue outside of what you mentioned previously? I’m trying to work through this and I want to use your product, but I’m sure you can understand that this is becoming very frustrating. The sooner this is resolved, the sooner I will be out of your hair. Thank you in advance for responding.

This is the very 1st condition in my test form

As you can see they are very different... My condition does work on your form when I did the test form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/23067555758969

The form feature is working, the feature is just not being used correctly.

So then I have another question. How am I to decipher which page numbers are affiliated with specific breaks in the form? Originally, only 4 pages were showing in the skip to section and I’m sure that you can see that the form is made up of way more than 4 pages. I posed this question when I first started this project and wasn’t given a clear answer by one of the techs. Then when I asked about the show and hide conditions, I was told that if I chose the show condition, the form would still work properly. Then I was told to remove all page breaks and collapses, and that the conditions wouldn’t work properly if they were present, which isn’t true either. The instructional links that were sent over weren’t very helpful either, so that’s why I’m asking for a little guidance. Please understand, if things were all cut and dry, I wouldn’t be contacting you. I’d much rather be spending my time working on other things than this.

At present, the ribbon isn’t working in jotform, so I can’t even get into the conditions to see if the page numbers have shifted, but once I do, I will follow-up.

    Hi Tamara,

The number of page break fields correspond to the number of pages in the form. Visually...

    =====================================

    Some Header

    Page Break 1

    T

    Page Break 2

    T
    E

    Page Break 3

     =============================

"Another question… so all of the options should show as skip to or show… there should be a mixture?"

You can mix them (SHOW/HIDE and SKIP Page).. both method have purpose as explained in the guide. -Conditional-Logic-on-Forms

I believe the very first page of your form was meant to use SKIP Page condition. When you select an option on that page, it should SKIP to the appropriate page number. Just like what I did in my test form (when you select option "3 Apply for Job..")

The form is finally working. Thank you for all of your help. I do have a few more questions though:

    1. When I delete the numbering system, will my conditions become obsolete? Will I need to go back into the program to modify the selections again?
    2. Is there a way where I can allow users to select more than one option and have the form show questions for two separate apps in one viewing or will they instead need to exit one app to complete another?
    3. I have two PayPal accounts. Will jotform allow two accounts to be affiliated with the same form so that payments are directed to separate accounts based on user selection?
    4. Two of the present conditions that I’ve set aren’t working and I can’t figure out why. They are items 2a and 12.1. Screen shots are provided below.

Hoping to be out of your hair soon :0) Thanks again for the assistance.

    Hi there!

Here are the answer to your questions:

    1. When I delete the numbering system, will my conditions become obsolete? Will I need to go back into the program to modify the selections again?

No.  Changing the value of the fields does not affect the conditions.  You would not need to change them, simply edit the fields on the form.

    2. Is there a way where I can allow users to select more than one option and have the form show questions for two separate apps in one viewing or will they instead need to exit one app to complete another?

At the moment, the way you have set it up it will only allow for one app.  Reason: Radio buttons only allow one choice.  If you had set the first question to be a check-box field it would have allowed users to choose more then one option.

This is still possible.  However, it would require you to go through the conditions from scratch.

    3. I have two PayPal accounts. Will jotform allow two accounts to be affiliated with the same form so that payments are directed to separate accounts based on user selection?

You can create two additional forms.

Each form will contain a payment integration (one for each paypal account).

Use conditions to redirect to the payment form (different URL) according to their choice.

To redirect users to a different PayPal account according to their chosen options, I would need to apply the “Change the URL after submission” condition? Or is there a better way to do this?

    Thank you…

    Hi there!

    That is the best option.

You would have to create different forms.  Each form with one specific payment gateway.

So, according to the choice of your user, you would redirect them to the correct URL.

Hope that helps!  Let us know if you need further assistance!

For some reason, the images won’t upload to jotform properly… I’m guessing because this might be your peak time. Here are the commands that were provided in the screenshots for each web part.

    12.1 equals 12.1.1, skip to page 64
    12.1 equals 12.1.2, skip to page 74

Both skip to page 64 instead of branching off to different pages

    2a equals 14, skip to page 88
    2a equals 1, skip to page 2
2a equals Image, skip to page 1
    2a equals 15, skip to page 89

All 4 options skip to the same page just as in the fields mentioned in the 12.1 scenario, but they should instead branch off to other places.
My response, the portions of the form that I am referring to here are checkbox web parts, not radio buttons. I have applied conditions to each option, but they don’t show two sets of questions if a user chooses two options. Only one set of questions appears. Are there any special settings that I need to implement to execute a twofer?
When you say, I can create two separate forms, you mean post two separate forms on my site, or have a user select an option, redirect them to another jotform site and then redirect them to PayPal to remit payment? Can you be a little more specific? I ask because I want the options that they choose on the form to populate in PayPal when they are redirected to that site. Thank you. Just making sure I’m clear here.
Thanks again for all of your help and I look forward to hearing from you. I haven’t yet tried adding the form to my website. Is this easy peasy or will I literally need to paste code into my site in order for users to view the form? The coding thing is an easy process :0) I’m just trying to gear myself up for what’s coming.

    @Tamara,

Hi, here are my explanations to your latest inquiry.

"For some reason, the images won’t upload to jotform properly…"

Please re-try uploading again, it probably took time to render the upload screen due to the size of the form.

    "12.1 equals 12.1.1, skip to page 64
    12.1 equals 12.1.2, skip to page 74

Both skip to page 64 instead of branching off to different pages"

Do not use the ampersand (&) character in field labels. Replace it with the real "and" word instead. This character breaks the back end code in the conditions.

    2a equals 14, skip to page 88

    2a equals 1, skip to page 2

2a equals Image, skip to page 1

    2a equals 15, skip to page 89

All 4 options skip to the same page just as in the fields mentioned in the 12.1 scenario, but they should instead branch off to other places.

Use only 1 SKIP PAGE condition as much as possible. You have 2x SKIP to page 2 conditions, I just mixed them into one and ANY of them when triggered will work.

Try to understand the logic use of ANY vs. ALL in the IF condition conclusion.

Here is my test form with some corrections applied base on your latest inquiry. Test the issue you mentioned.

    2. Is there a way where I can allow users to select more than one option and have the form show questions for two separate apps in one viewing or will they instead need to exit one app to complete another?

You already mentioned checkbox, yes that is the field you need to be able to have multiple options (in contrast to radio options) .

This is the time you can use the SHOW/HIDE conditions. Review the Condition Logic guide about SHOW/HIDE. Basically, you can use the checkbox to show another question when click, or select multiple checkboxes to show one question (ALL logic rule)

    3. I have two PayPal accounts. Will jotform allow two accounts to be affiliated with the same form so that payments are directed to separate accounts based on user selection?

You will need more than 1 form to have multiple payment form.. check this guide : -How-to-Create-a-Basic-Multiple-Payment-form . Please take note that data/info from the main form will not go to the other external payment forms (i.e. Names, Email etc..) unless you requre the users to re-input them all over again on the external payment forms.

If I am to be allowed to recommend, I would rather have you stick to your 1 payment form (the checkout cart) for now. It would add more to the complexity if you opt to go to the course of adding multiple payment forms.

The simplest you can do for multiple payment form, is rather, just provide a link in the form or to an email Notification that will re-direct users to another page where another form is located.

In case you ready to embedded this form on your website, feel free to contact us anytime should you need further assistance to do that.

    Thanks.

No… I still don’t understand, in regards to the 2a issue. This item should branch off into 4 different places. If I elected for each option to go to separate places, why isn’t this feature populating? Are you saying that I need to choose all instead of any?

And, we’re back to the same issue. The conditions aren’t working again. I cloned the master form to delete the number system. I didn’t want to delete anything without having a backup, but now the conditions aren’t working on the cloned form. I reviewed the conditions list and everything seems to be in place. Am I just waiting for the server to populate the information?

I chose, if x equals y, then redirect to URL, but the form just keeps going on and on. Should I replace the page breaks (nxt buttons) with submit buttons?

    Here’s the new url: http://www.jotform.us/form/23091405987156

Hopefully these will be the last two issues. Thank you.

If not, please let us know what aspects of the NEW form provided by my colleague are not correct and we will be glad to assist you.

    Good morning…

I’m not trying to be difficult. Yes, I reviewed your colleague’s form and 2a was working there. However, when I began the cloning process this morning and made additional changes to the form, it wasn’t until after I made the modifications that I opened his email. I only waited because I thought 2a would be an easy fix. Are you able to email me the steps on how to resolve this issue? I ask because I don’t want to lose the changes that I made prior to opening your colleague’s email that contained a form with a properly working 2a.

If at all possible, I would like to continue using the form that I’ve been working on. Is that possible? Thank you.

    Hi there,

We'll be glad to assist you.  However, it may be best to start from a place where we have things working and add from there.

Is it possible that you add your editions to the working version provided by my colleague?

This way, the work done to troubleshoot and make the changes on our end does not go to waist and we avoid missing any important details given the complexity of the form.

Please make the additions on a clone of this form and we will be glad to continue to work with you to clear any other issues.  Thanks!

    Hi,

I did a little research regarding on this issue and I found a post from paypal community.

    https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/How-to-use-PayPal-Archive/seller-only-accepts-payments-from-unencrypted-payments/td-p/12931

In your Paypal account this option can be turned off:

    1. Login to your Paypal Account

    2. Click "Profile" tab or "Edit Profile" link

    3. Under "Selling Preferences", select "Website Payment Preferences".

    4. In the section titled "Encrypted Website Payments" select "Off".

    5. Click save.

    Hope you find this helpful.

    Thank you!

Okay… so we’re back to the same issue again. The conditions aren’t working. I deleted the numbering system and the changes aren’t populating with the selections. Please tell me I don’t have to go back in and reapply conditions again? Thank you.

    @Tamara

Hi, I understand why you wanted the "prefix" numbering removed on the form's labels -- that is to make it more elegant or pro looking. However, (as you may have noticed already) this will break again the conditions rule setup on your form. To get the conditions working again, you will have to go the route of fixing each of them again.

What I would suggest really is to clone this form. You can use this form as is (just update the Email Notification)

    OR

You  can gradually fix the labels by renaming and testing it one by one (if you really want to change the labels). Again, this option is risky of breaking again the conditions setup.

Please inform us if you require further assistance.

    Thanks.

A few issues are still looming. I’ve tried my best not to contact you, but they just won’t resolve themselves.

Club DuMorocc and Urban Security options are still going to the same pages when they shouldn’t be.
Some users should be redirected to Rebecca Everlene Trust PayPal and others to Spaulding & Daniels PayPal. Despite the conditions I’ve set, all users are being sent to Spaulding & Daniels.

Can you please explain to what exactly conditions you are referring to?

If we get the exact conditions to check, it will be much easier to troubleshoot the problem.
