Order form with quantity but no checkout?

Asked by guest_23065311603037 on November 03, 2012 at 06:25 AM

Hi i know this is going to sound wierd. But i have a requirement for a booking system that automatically counts down quantity available but is really simple and has no checkout at the end.

So ideally a basic submission for but attaching a quantity to classes that each time its submitted the quantity goes down?

I know its not advised and it can be abused by one user continually submitting and delpleating the quantity with no payment requirement. but this is for a clossed group of people, and this is just wnat i need to do even though it is not normal.

    anya thoughts anyone?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Are you perhaps looking for the Purchase Order field? It is among the payment tools. Using this field like what you did with the Paypal one, will not require checkout.(it is simply an order form)

    Here is a demo form.

    Thanks.

this would be used for booking people onto workshops so do not want any prices listed - and also would want to add several different items each with thier own syock limit quantity, which would go down once a user submitted the form.

i will play around with it some more and see if ic an do it with the purchase order.

    Thanks

    Hi,

On a side note..are you perhaps have not created a JotForm account yet? Please try to login to JotForm if you have already created one -- if not yet, please try creating one using this link when you have the time.

    Back to your inquiry..

The quantity option does calculate for the total.. -- but it does not diminish any related numbers(like a total inventory - quantity).

I am trying to understand your Purchase order form.. If I understand correctly now, what you wanted to achieved is to diminish/substract to an existing number(total) everytime a booking(quantity) is done.

In theory for now, I think you can do this if you use the ordinary dropdown field (for quantity) and integrate the form to google spreadsheet. Once integrated, you can create formula in the spreadsheet that can automate the substraction of inventory(total) everytime new submission/booking are done.

Here is an almost similar topic, -- this one though is an incrementing total (we can simply reverse the formula)

You may also want to check the different integrations supported by JotForm, perhaps you can use one of it in your booking form instead. I am looking at Stripe or Freshbooks

    Thanks.
