I have a wordpress embedded multi-part form and the matrix feilds are not saving?

I am also embedding this within wordpress and was wondering if I could grab a users session when they are logged in so they can continue with a saved form.

Id like to avoid the option of emailing them a link if i could.

According to this thread it looks like it can be done.

    Hi,

We apologize for the inconvinience it may have caused. But you were correct in your observation -- the matrix field have a glitch that it will not work correctly when in multi-session mode .

There is actually a ticket already for this, as it was already noted much earlier. Here: http://www.jotform.com/answers/137172-Matrix-not-saving-in-save-and-return-link

I will add your created topic to the ticket so that you will also be notified immediately once the fix is available.

    Thanks.

What about the session I also asked about?

Please correct me I got your question wrong.

But the ticket here http://www.jotform.com/answers/137172-Matrix-not-saving-in-save-and-return-link is specifically about the Matrix field not saving data in multi-session form.

"I am also embedding this within wordpress and was wondering if I could grab a users session when they are logged in so they can continue with a saved form."

It means, the technique will not work with the matrix field in question, no matter if you are using the form's direct URL or if it is embedded like in wordpress page.

Hope I was able to address it correctly this time.

    Thanks.

Minus the matrix issue could you address on how I could implement the session for the embedded form by using the username of the Wordpress logged in user?

If I understand correcty, you are asking for the feature similar to that of the facebook integration here http://jotpoll.com/blog/33-Shorten-Your-Forms-Using-Facebook-Profile-Info

This feature does not exists for Wordpress as it does not have the API needed for capturing the user profile.

Do you require your WP users to logged in before they can view your WP page?

You can create a multi session form using this guide . What you can do, is initially required the user to fill in the Names, Email and so on fields before they can proceed to Main form (and start the session)

    Hope this help.

    Thanks.

I want the embedded jotform to use the wordpress session to to store the user data from that form when they are logged in. And if they log out and return the data would still be there!

Can you please share to us the URL of the Wordpress page where we can see the form?

To what I know so far, the multi-session will work on any embedded form on a website including those in wordpress.

    Will await your update.

    Thanks.

Thank you for accomdating the request.

As I checked the form in your website, this seems to be not similar to the concept of multi-session form that is describe in this guide -How-to-Save-Forms-to-Continue-Later

First off, you will need an entry form (the first form describe in the guide).

And what I can see so far is like the "Main form" describe in the guide.

You will need to create the "first form" first and that should be the one embedded in your website.

Please inform us if you require further assistance.

    Thanks.

Your not understanding what I want! I want one embedded form with the save and continue feature working within wordpress. Is there a way to attach the session to just one embedded form when a user is logged in!

I'll go test this out for you on a local WP installation. I'll get back to you with my results.

    Best regards

    Hi,

Indeed, it is possible to utilize WordPress usernames as a form's session variable with a little bit of PHP scripting. I was able to implement this using a PHP widget plugin.

Let me know if the form is to be embedded on a post/page or a widget area (sidebar/footer), and I'll have a guide ready for you.

    Thanks!

By the way when I save a form through an email link the matrix values do save just not in the embedded form.

    Looking forward to the guide.

Matrix values should be saved using iFrame embed codes. Everything seemed to work fine according to my tests, at least on my end.

I'll have your guide up by tomorrow morning, I hope you do not mind.

    Cheers!

    @flcag

    Check this out: http://www.jotform.com/answers/145553-Save-Forms-to-Continue-Later-WordPress-Version

Note: I am assuming that your form contains page breaks (back and next) which will be used for saving.
