How to track down the origin of my form's visitors.

Hi There, I notice in the Platform tab of the analytics segment, that none of my viewers have accessed the form from Instagram. This is surprising b/c we publicize actively on Instagram to an audience that uses Instagram much more than they use Facebook. I'm wondering if, for analytics purposes, you lump Instagram together with Facebook as a platform. I'm asking because if none of my views are coming from Instagram, I may need to rethink my publicity strategy. :)

    Thanks!

Jotform Analytics actually distincts the incoming traffic from your form, so you would be able to distinct your users based in their origins. You can use Get Referrer to discover what page your user were before accessing your form.

    Feel free to contact us,

    Thanks

Thanks, so just to be clear. Would I be able to see who is accessing my form by looking at the Browser column within the platform tab?

Hi, sorry for being excessively succint in my first post. I forgot to mention that you have to use a second app in order to track the origin of the incoming traffic to your form, that is,  if the user is coming either from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. Get Referrer is an app that allows you to know exactly from where the user came from, let's say that your form is embedded in Facebook, and there's a link to it in Instagram, Get Referrer adds to every submission to your form the original URL that your user used it to get to your form, as you can see by the image below:

Unfortunately, Jotform Analytics still doesn't allow you to know from where your users are coming from (i.e: from what website), it only tells you their IP addresses and information regarding their devices, location and platform. Get Referrer only tracks the website that brought your users if they actually submit data to your form. If they just visit your form, Get Referrer won't track their origin.

You can find a quick guide for this app here: https://www.jotform.com/help/287-How-to-Capture-Referrer-URL

And the link for the app here:

    https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/get_referrer

The Get Referrer feature of tracking the origin of your form's visitor might be add to Jotform Analytics in the future, as we're constantly developing new features in Jotform.

    Hoping that I helped you,

    Thanks.
