Since the submissions counter resets as of the first of each month, I assume when I downgrade my account from Premium to Basic it will take effect as of the first of the next month? Is there a certain number of days in advance of the first of the month (or in advance of whenever I want it downgraded) that I need to make this downgrade request on the "Pricing" screen, or will this request be registered immediately in your system, meaning I could downgrade on the 31st of the month, for example, and it would take effect the next day?

To answer your question, the way it works is normally when you sign up and start with the basic Free Account your month starts that very day so for instance if you signed up today with a free account on 11/20/2012 your monthly reset would be on the first of the month. Now say a week goes by and all of a sudden you decide that you want to upgrade to premium then your account is charged for the subscription and your plan subscription date starts on 11/27/2012. Now if later on on say 12/05/2012 you decide that you want to cancel/downgrade it your plan will still be active for the remainder of the 30 days and end on 12/27/2012. Different from that is if a refund is requested and that itself is entirely different and would take immediate effect.
