Google Spreadsheet: Issue with submission date

But there is still an issue with some of the date widgets and for that matter the submission date. When integrated with Google sheets. The dates are transferred as text not as a date so they do not format correctly. I have reported this at least 3 times and have sent detailed reports but it appears I can't convince anyone that the problem exists. In some cases it flips the day and month values so that the 1st of Jun. shows up as 6th of Jan. It is impossible to work with or use these dates for sorting correctly on sheets.

Can you please look into this. I'm willing to work with anyone to show what the problems, issues are.

    Hi,

Rather then do that all again, I will refer you to my threads on the subject. After reading those thoroughly and you still need some further details I will then work with you. I just don't want to keep repeating my self.

If you can't find these threads, my next post will give you the links to them.

    Best, Robert

I have checked your inquiry again, and tested the submission date in the Google Spreadsheet.

The submission date format is Day-Month-Year with time stamp. May we know what specific date widget is not consistent?

Tested DatePicker and it is working correctly.

    Hi,

Yes it shows what appears to be correct. The problem occurs when submissions dates fall between the 1st and 12th of each month.

For example if the submission is on the 1st of June 2018 it will show, if not formatted as: 06-01-2018, just like you show above.

Now if you format the sheet column to view the date as "dd mmm, yyyy" what would expect to see is; 01 Jun, 2016, what you will see is: 6 Jan, 2018.

If you format your sheet above to view the date as "dd mmm, yyyy" you will not see any change from what you already have showing now because there is no month numerated as 25 so it cannot change to the format you want.

All this because date has been submitted to the sheet as;  month, day, year and the sheet expects to see; day, month, year.

Some of the widgets have the option of being able to select the month as alpha, so when the date is submitted to the sheet their is no confusion and it all works well.

I have gone through all this at least 3 times before and for some reason it is not sinking in or it is not being tested completely to verify my case. I assure you this is a problem and it needs fixing.

I think there is more but this should do. Please review these before responding...

As I check the threads, the issues have already been sent to our backend team for further investigation. Unfortunately, there is no update yet on the issues. Since the other threads with respective widgets/fields are open, we request you to follow-up on the other threads to avoid confusion. If there is any news with the issues, you'll be updated on the respective threads.

    Thank you!
