Why would my form selections be different than the excel output AND the auto confirmation email? PART 2

Asked on February 25, 2011 at 03:37 PM

Original Question at bottom of message.

I just tried these with no success.  My responses to the instructions are a-c.  See details:

    1)     You probably changed the form on your web site, but did not change it on Form Builder.

    a.     Done.  Everything is correct on jotform builder.

    2)     If it does not fix the Excel, it is probably a report.

    a.     The misspelling shows up in the excel report.  I unchecked / checked the selections, but nothing changed.

    3)     If it does not fix emails, then the email might need to be reset or changed manually.

    a.     The misspelling is within a form selection/answer.  I cannot edit the text because it is an attribute linked to the form.

Does this make sense?  Can you help direct me further?

    Thank you!

You probably changed the form on your web site, but did not change it on Form Builder.

    1. Log into your account

    2. Select yout form and click on Edit button near it

    3. Fix the spelling on the form builder and then Save your form.

That should fix both Submissions page and the emails.

If it does not fix the Excel, it is probably a report.

    1. Open your My Forms page

    2. Select your form and then click on Reports at the top

    3. Find your Excel Report and click on it

    4. Uncheck all fields and check all fields

    5. Click Next.

If it does not fix emails, then the email might need to be reset or changed manually.

    1. Open your form on Form Builder

    2. Click on Email Alerts button on the toolbar

    3. Select the email that sends incorrectly

    4. Change the field

Sorry for the delayed response, could you please give me a walk-through on the specific details about your problem?  Just so to be sure that I know what I'm looking for. I tried replicating your account and it seems alright when i made my own submissions.

Aside from that I noticed that there was no sender email address in your email alert notification.

A screenshot will really help a lot if you can also provide us one.

The problem is that the word "fiduciary" on the form (on our web and on jotform) is spelled correctly.  It was at one point spelled incorrectly.

When we download the excel sheet, the word is spelled wrong.  More importantly, the  auto confirmation email has the word spellied wrong.  I can't figure out how to quickly upload a screenshot, so here is a text copy of the email confirmation:

I cannot edit the spelling mistake in the email confirmation.  It is being pulled from the answer attribute.  In other words, the email alert text is based on the form choice that the contact selects.

The answers are pulled from (this is where the mispelling take place):

    {wednesdayMarch38}

    {wednesdayMarch}

Logically, the text should match what the form answers are.  However, it does not.

I have tried re-editing the fields and re-entered the attributes on your email notification.  Can you test it again if your form is still submitting the same?

    Will wait for your result.

    Thanks

I filled out the form and the misspelling of fiduciary is still there.

We have a notice that we can't access the submissions or reports. Is this due to our current issue?  Will this affect the ability for our guests to register?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your response.

I will submit another ticket to our development team to look into your form and fix this.

I don't think submissions were be affected by the current issue.

    Thanks for your patience.

I made a test submission on your form and received the confirmation email. Both results are shown on the email. Please see the screenshot below. Have you already resolved this issue? If you have not can you point me exactly what is incorrect here:

I too have an issue with a Form being correct as viewed on a site but the report back to my client has a spelling erroe. I have gone in and corrected the error on the form builder and then rebuilt the html page on the site. It didn't fix the problem. The form in question is linked below.

    http://www.tailwaginn.com/application.html

Below is what they receive: the line "Most Resent" has been corrected to read "Most Recent". I am curious why the system is still sending an older version.
