How to make Jotform to my own form

  • Insolvency
Asked on July 3, 2018 at 8:57 PM

    Hi

I am writing to ask about how and if it is possible to achieve this.

I built Form A using Jotform with the value I wish to input in my own form.

After the user presses submit is it possible to display my own form with the fields they populated?

You mean to pre-populate fields after user submitted the form? You can check our guides below on how you can pre-populate fields.

    Looking forward for your response.

    Hi,

    No not pre-populated field.

For example they are doing order for a delivery, basically after they submit the form on JotForm, instead of when they print they see for example

    https://form.jotform.com/53533976064967??fullName[prefix]=Dr.&fullName[first]=John&fullName[middle]=Doe&fullName[last]=Smith&fullName[suffix]=M.D.&selections30=Pillow&media=Internet&address=Katipunan,ZN%207109,%20Philippines&pleaseChoose=Metal,Gold,Wood

They actually see a complicated delivery order filled with whatever details they have inputted

If you want them to view their filled information, you can put the "Edit" link in either your Thank you page or Auto response email.

    Ex.

    Thank you page

    Auto response email

For reference, you can check this guide https://www.jotform.com/help/357-How-to-Change-the-Text-of-the-Edit-Link-in-Your-Email-Alerts.

That's not what I am trying to achieve.

Basically, they fill up their particulars on JotForm like their name and items and etc. Thereafter when hitting submit

Something like this will generate http://scm.gsom.spbu.ru/images/a/a7/Delivery_order.jpeg

Filled with whatever details they have inputted rather than the simplified version they see on the form

You can customize your thank you page to look like a receipt or look like the example in your screenshot.

1530673092The Easiest Online Form Builde Screenshot 10

Whenever they submit the form, they will be redirected to your form's thank you page that is formatted the way you want it. On my screenshot, you will see the "Form Fields" dropdown. You can choose which information you want to display in your thank you page to act as their receipt.

Another way is to customize your email notification or auto response template similar to the HTML script in your thank you page.

Is there a way to do it and keep its original formatting? It can be sent to my email

Do you mean to say that you want the same custom formatting of thank you page to be displayed in the submission email as well?

After you customize your form's thank you message, you can copy the source code and paste it in the submission email template. Please check the screenshot below:

    Hope this helps.

Sorry for not being clear, same custom formatting that is on my own document that I want to populate

You may only add a table and include the content as instructed by my colleagues, if your document is only a table as shown in your screenshot you should be able to do it following the instructions already provided.

Now, if you're looking to have a very customized layout, I'm afraid that you may not be able to customize the email to look like the document. I would  recommend you to test the email wizard and check the options it has available, this guide will help you doing so: https://www.jotform.com/help/430-How-to-Edit-the-Email-Template-for-Notifications-and-Autoresponders

    Thanks.

Sorry, this wasn't my thread, but...
I suspect not, but is it possible to use the {tokens} to render form attributes when you "redirect" to a thank you page?

My content is an official document, therefore I am unable to add boxes as per what your colleague said. I only used that as an example where it will just take the shape and formatting of that particular screenshot rather then creating the boxes where the formatting maybe off.

Please note that it is also possible to attach a file in auto-responder email alert as well. I would suggest you to please upload your official document in auto-responder email alert and when the form is submitted, the user who submitted form will receive the autoresponder email with attachment. Please check the screenshot below:

    Hope this helps.

Hi I tried your step it works. The only thing I need to do is to have the field which they fill in onto the document which the auto responder sends

Like for example on JotForm they fill in their name and everything, when the email sends the PDF it will be filled with whatever details they filled up on JotForm

I'm afraid that it's not possible to send data from the submission to the attached document in the email autoresponder; however, you may customize the PDF report of the submission and include it in the submission, please kindly check this guide in order to get more details about how to customize it: https://www.jotform.com/help/384-How-to-Customize-PDF-Submissions-Report

You may attach the PDF report under the advanced tab of the email settings:

    I hope this helps.

If you want to keep the same format as the one in your screenshot (http://scm.gsom.spbu.ru/images/a/a7/Delivery_order.jpeg) and be filled with whatever your respondents put in when they submit their form, I suggest that you edit the email content of the email notification sent to your email address.

    How-to-Edit-the-Email-Template-for-Notifications-and-Autoresponders

However, if you want to receive the PDF copy of the submission in that same format, then you can customize try to customize the PDF submission — How-to-Customize-PDF-Submissions

Then, enable the PDF Attachment of the email notification in your form.

I tried before but here comes my issue. The entire document has a border and when I copy paste it, it doesn't show.

Another is there are boxes at the top and when I copy in, the formatting became off and went to the center top

The only way I found it to keep everything in one piece is adding it as an image, however it means I am unable to add the form fields on top of it

I'll try to check if it is possible to re-create the table you shared with us and have it as part of the email content. Please give me some time, I'll get back to you as soon as possible. If you have any additional instructions, please feel free to let us know.

FYI It doesn't have to be that particular table as I was only using as an example. The form is downloadable through this link

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience. I'm afraid it would be impossible to have the table you shared created as a PDF copy of submissions. But, it would be possible to create it in email notifications.

I have checked your form in your account and I see that you have already worked on the content of the email notification.

I have created a clone version of your form and I have also updated the content of the email notification based on the table you shared with us.

Here's the link to the clone version — https://form.jotform.com/81926109642964

Feel free to clone it then make a test submission after — How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

Note: I haven't added the form fields to the email notification yet.

The email notification that will be sent to your email address should look like this:

    1531424238t15 36 Screenshot 10

You may also copy the Source Code of the email content to your form's email notification. Here's how:

    1531424493t15 39 04 Screenshot 21

Add the fields in your form to the email notifications after and update it to your own preference.

If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know.
