Geo Location being stripped from meta data when uploading images from iPhone

    Hello,

I'm looking at using the JotForm service and have setup a test form to upload images.  The images I require need to have the images geo location data stored in the image file.  This must be the location where the image was taken.

However when I upload an image from my iPhone (either from the photo library or taking the photo directly from the camera) the geo location meta data is removed from the file.

Is there any way to fix this?

    Thanks.

    Alex

The uploaded image in the File Upload field will not show any metadata except for the URL, file name, and file type/extension. It will not show where the image was taken or its geolocation data.

I recommend you to use these widgets instead:

    Geolocation widget

    GPS Location widget

    Geo Stamp widget

    Here's a guide on How-to-Add-a-Widget-to-Your-Form.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

    Hi Jan,

Thanks but that is not correct.  Having investigated further, uploading geo tagged images works fine from Android devices. I have tested this and had no issue.

It appears Apple strip the EXIF data from images by default in iOS.

    Currently looking for a workaround.

I understand. It seems that the problem is with the Apple devices. If you think that the issue is with the form or with the File Upload field, let us know so that we can further check as well.

    Thank you for updating us.
