Would it be great to have a guide that provides the list of fields and widgets with some information?

It would be great to have a guide that provides the elements of each widget, as well as how they can or can't be used with other Jotform features. It's helpful to have such a variety of tools, but it can be a little frustrating trying to figure out which field type or widget to use for a certain calculation or behavior. I hope this is something that can be worked into the product. If it is something you think is a good candidate for a priority feel free to make a new thread for the suggestion. Thanks!

I understand that you want to have a guide with the list of fields and widgets with some information for each field/widget to identify which can be used for a purpose. The form elements in the Form builder and the widgets are categorized based on the type. You may refer to the following guide that can help you with some information on the form fields.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/46-Quick-Overview-of-Form-Fields

The widget categories are listed in the Widgets page and you may choose one based on your requirement.

Hope this information helps! Let us know if you are referring something different. We will be happy to help.

Thanks, Kiran. This is helpful, and it would be nice to have a link to it in the widgets section of the form builder, but what I'm actually looking for is a way to find out more about the properties of a widget. For instance, some can be used with form the calculation widget and some cannot, some values can be set using conditions and some cannot, etc. Instead, I have to spend time setting up a field and try to use it before I realize it will not work for my application. It would just be nice to be able to do less trial-and-error and searching the help forum for others who have asked the same questions, and more form building! Does that make sense?

Yes, it does make sense. Unfortunately, we do not have what you want. However, you can ask for a feature request.

Please provide more details of what you want and we will forward it to our developers.

    Here's an example request:

I would like to request for a feature that when I hover the mouse in the Widgets section, I would like to see some explanation/description of the widget. Here's a screenshot of what I want, etc.

You can always ask us here in the Support Forum if you want to know more about a specific widget.

You can also check the demo forms of the widgets on this link: https://widgets.jotform.com/
