Anything to send a link to the form with an authenticated token?

    Attempt to do:

    1) parent fills form A with a couple of other emails for the recommender emails.

    2) I'll then send an email to each of the recommenders with the link to a recommendation form

    3) each recommender must click the link provided from his/her email address to as part of the authentication so that I know it is from him/her.

I read thru the following article:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/427-How-to-Verify-an-Email-Address-Before-or-After-Form-Submission

It seems doing what I want, however, the "from" email address will have to be no-reply@jotform.com, but not a customized email address from us.  Is that correct?

    Or, I misunderstood.

    or...

I can email a link to the recommender with a special, e.g., 4-digit code, so that the recommender just needs to click on the link with the 4-digit code provided.

    but

the sender must show our email address instead of no-reply@jotform.com

Yes. Your understanding is correct. The email autoresponder sent using the apps will be using our default email address and no customized email address can be used. Generally, the after submission verification method is used to verify the submission rather the email address. Once the link in the email autoresponder is clicked by the recommender, the submission shall be verified and updated with the code entered.

    Hope this information helps!

The goal is to ensure the recommendation form is filled by the  recommender instead of someone else.

Any other alternative sender email can be customized one?

Since the recommender himself is filling the form, you can add the verification link from the Submission verifier add to the autoresponder which will be sent to the email address filled on the form.

So, you may configure the email autoresponder to send using your own email address by configuring it as SMTP. Please refer to the guide below that can help you with setting up SMTP.

Sender shows a 'customised' email when I received a notification on a completed form by users. But anything else still shows no-reply@jotform.com especially when user can't complete the survey and request an email sent. Why so? Same platform one shows 'customised' and one if not :(

I see that Notifier and Autoresponder are sent from two different email addresses. And from what I understood you're having an issue with Autoresponders being sent.

Could you please check if the sender email is configured properly since it can happen that if the email is not configured properly it defaults to noreply@jotform.com

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Can I ask, if a user can't complete the survey and request an email sent. Is the sender coming from Notifier or Autoresponder? and can these both senders be configured to a customised email as sender?

strange though. on my email notification and autoresponder settings are set on customized email sender, I could see it displays. But when sending a test email and send the link as email on save and continue later form. They still come from no-reply@jotfom.com
     :(

    What's wrong?

I just did a test submission in your form (please ignore it) and I received it from your custom email, please check:

Could you tell us how you're testing so we can test as well and try to reproduce?

If you're attempting to change the sender email for verification email sent to the users (like in this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/427-How-to-Verify-an-Email-Address-Before-or-After-Form-Submission), I'm afraid that it is not possible to do that, the sender will always be noreply@jotform.com.

====  Answers NOT applicable to my question ========

    1) User Alex is not from my company. I think he is having an issue with the email address  for the email sent to customer about submission.  And , that's not my question at all.

    2) What Alex, ( I don't know this user ), is asking is totally different from what I try to ask.  So, it is frustrating to see this steers to a wrong direction based on other's problems; which by the way, i have no issue with. I have no problem setting up the SMTP  setting in the notification after submission.  I have had no problem in customizing the sender address since day one I used jotform.

Perhaps his question and your answers above to his question should be moved to another proper thread instead.

Again,  what the user Alex asked is  "not" the same as my initial question at all. Thus, the answers do not apply to what my initial question is about.

====  Let me clarify my question by clarifying what I am trying to do: ========

step 1) parent fills one registration Form for his child.  In order to be accepted into our program, we must receive recommendations from the child's  two teachers.  So, one of the fields in the registration form requires them to enter two recommenders' email addresses.

    e.g., teacher1@gmail.com,   and teacher2@yahoo.com

Then, they submit the form, get an email notification after submission from our customized sender address. Thus, so far, it is all good. No issue with the SMTP setup

step 2) I would like to  then send an email to each of the recommenders ,  teacher1@gmail.com,   and teacher2@yahoo.com with the tokenized link to our recommendation form.

E.g. unsecured link to the recommendation form is:

    http://www.stormingrobots.com/prod/eval_gr4_6_form.html

Link sent to the recommenders should include some sort token which requires them to click on the link directly from their email address.

step 3) each recommender must click that link provided from his/her email address in order to access the recommendation form.  This will serve as part of the authentication process to ensure they are the one who enters the recommendation, not someone else.

So the question is in step (2) and (3).  I have read you online instruction about the

    https://www.jotform.com/help/427-How-to-Verify-an-Email-Address-Before-or-After-Form-Submission

    But it said:

Seeing that this service was built by us, the sender would always be noreply@jotform.com and there's no way to change this. If you need this same kind of verification, while using your own preferred email as the sender, you'd need to use a 3rd party solution like XVerify. Luckily, we already have a widget in place for that too, and all you'd need is an account with XVerify to use it.

====  alternative but still does not authenticate it is from the teachers! ========

So, I was thinking about the alternative not as secured as step 2:

In lieu of a secured link with specific token, perhaps, we'll just send the recommenders -  teacher1@gmail.com,   and teacher2@yahoo.com  a specific 4 digit code representing the student.

Well, the down side of that is that the teachers can just give the parents the 4 digit code and have the parents to fill out the form themselves instead.

    ===================

Hope my question is clearer now.
