Data remains encrypted when the submissions are downloaded to Excel/PDF

Also, every time I download the forms in either Excel or as a PDF, they’re coming down encrypted, even though I have used the key to decrypt them and can see the responses on the site.

Any help that you can give me would be really appreciated.

    Thsnks,

    Emma

It's not possible to download encrypted submissions in the Excel/PDF/CSV as the key to decrypt the data is never sent to our server. When you upload your private key it is only loaded into your browser for client-side encryption.

I would request you to go through this article which explains the encrypted forms in details - Encrypted-Forms-and-How-to-Use-Them

Some features suchPDF/Excel/CSV downloads, Email notification/autoresponders, reports are not available with encrypted forms.

However, I can raise this as a feature request to our development, if you would like. However, we cannot provide an ETA as to when this will be implemented.

    Hi,
I'm not a technical person and I'm not sure you've answered my question
    below.
I've attached three pics of my problems.
    1. Is what I see about incomplete form submissions
    2. I've only been able to get onto your site twice today. Every other
time it's hanged. My internet is solid and all the other sites I've used
are working as they should be.
    3. I've used the Jotform Key to decrypt the responses, so that I can
read what they've said. I go to download the form in a PDF or using one
of the Excel formats and this is what I see.
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Emma

Due to the security needs to encrypted forms, created reports of the submission data is not possible.  Generating a report of the data would create a log of the data and would defeat the purpose of having fully encrypted data.  As per our guide on encrypted forms:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/344-Encrypted-Forms-and-How-to-Use-Them

Some of the features that are not available for Encrypted Forms are:

    1. PDF Downloads.

    2. Reports (this includes downloading Excel and CSV files from within the Submissions Page).

    3. Emails: Email Notifications and Autoresponder (usually emailed to the form submitters).

All server side gathered and processed data, can not be retrieved in encrypted forms because your private key is never sent to our servers.

By the way if you need further information on PDF security and encrypted PDFs, we also have a guide for it.
