Airline Name Form data is hard to use - any way to improve form

Asked by bettyfabiano on December 17, 2012 at 02:48 PM

We have created a form for our groups to fill out with the names of all the passengers in their group.  But when we export all the submission forms, it's impossible to work with, because each First, Middle, Last Name is an individual Row.

What could we do to set this up differently to make the data easier to collect and use?

That is how information on the matrix field is organized in an Excel-formatted report.

You can set this up differently by consolidating the fields onto a single matrix column and widening the text box using custom CSS.

An example can be seen on this clone of your form: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/23516207875962?

Let me know if you're interested on this workaround and I'll provide you with instructions. Please take note, however, that changing your matrix field's might corrupt (or worst, delete) the old data (on our server) already submitted to your form.

I would be interested in this workaround.  Right now, the data is so hard to deal with, anything would be an improvement.

Would you recommend downloading the old data before we do this?  I don't want to ruin the data we already have.  I exported forms earlier this week, but I'll go ahead and export again to make sure I've got all the data we need.

This won't affect files that were uploaded, correct?
