Do you  know if the following set of features might

be available anytime soon ? Could you send to the development team if possible ?

    1. All forms auto-save data whenever next button is clicked on a page

    &

    2. An edit link is generated and available in the jotform system after each Next click

    &

    3. An email can be sent at anytime during the survey with current Edit_Link

Please not this feature is already available. You can take advantage of our "Save form and Continue Later" feature to save the input data in session on our server. You may like to take a look at the following guide which should help you:   https://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later

Please note that for the input data to be saved in session on our server, a session URL needs to be created which cannot be created automatically. You need to create the session URL and send to user which they need to click to be able to access the previous saved data.

Please note that data can be saved in session only on click on next button and the email can be triggered only after the form is submitted. In classic form, you need to create two form and one of the form will create session URL for main form. Please review the guide which I have shared you above. In cards form layout, user will be able to save the input data in form after the first field is filled in. Please check the screenshot below:

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

This method you suggest won't work for pages with many questions (~300), as this will make the URL too long, so that method is limited and not the solution that will work for me. Also, I am not interested in doing this via card method. What I asked about is if there are current methods for doing all the following automatically, and if you have a plan for such a feature? Can you specify if a set of features like the ones described below are planned or not?:

All forms AUTOMATICALLY auto-save data whenever next button is clicked on a page

An edit link is AUTOMATICALLY generated and available in the jotform system after each Next click

An email can be AUTOMATICALLY sent at anytime during the survey with current Edit_Link (e.g., upon completion of a singe page of a multpage survey

We can create a feature request ticket and forward it to our backend team but I cannot assure you that it will be implemented.

All forms AUTOMATICALLY auto-save data whenever next button is clicked on a page

If the session URL is created, the data will be saved automatically whenever back/next button is clicked.

An edit link is AUTOMATICALLY generated and available in the jotform system after each Next click

Why do you need a new edit link after each next button click. Same edit link will be used for entire one submission irrespective of number of pages.

An email can be AUTOMATICALLY sent at anytime during the survey with current Edit_Link (e.g., upon completion of a singe page of a multpage survey

This is where I think is the problem. As mentioned earlier, the email can only be triggered after the for is submitted. It is not possible to send email when user complete one page of multi-page form.

Much appreciated Ashwin for putting in these feature request.

Thanks for your responses. Okay I think I get your responses.

All forms AUTOMATICALLY auto-save data whenever next button is clicked on a page

If the session URL is created, the data will be saved automatically whenever back/next button is clicked.

    *****************

If a session URL is created (for example by submitting the form and returning to it via Edit Submission link) then the form is being updated. I also believe there is the function to auto-save the data into the browser for 24 hours in case the page is closed.

Why do you need a new edit link after each next button click. Same edit link will be used for entire one submission irrespective of number of pages.

About the new edit link after each click, I asked because I thought the link was each time updated, but I see that it stays the same? and it's the data/form it's pointing that's changing after each submit or next page click.

I've found a solution i think to the one-form with multiple submit buttons, so that the user can get an email when they are the start of a long one-page form.

I made a copy of the submit button near the start of my forms, I have them user their email, and then they press the button, and then they return to the sheet via the Edit Submission link at the Thank You page or in their confirmation email. should this generally work ?, it seems like it does .

    1. I'm not exactly sure what you mean here so please give us some clarifications. As long as there's no user interaction on the form, nothing will be changed.

The autofill feature automatically saves the form data in the browser and to retrieve the saved data, you need to use the same browser. This is different from the session URL method but we only recommend this when your form has less than 10 fields to avoid browser issues.

    2. Yes, the edit link stays the same even when you submit it multiple times. Only the data is updated but not the edit link. Edit link is only generated after the initial submission.

    3. Yes, that's a good workaround. You can have a submit button on the first page of your form so users can submit the form. Then on the edit link, they can continue to the rest of the pages.
