I am hoping to collect some simple data straight from an email request. but when i look at the source code, it appears that there are style up in the header and some scripting that i am not familiar with in doing html emails. is there a way to make it fairly bulletproof for an email and still get the data from the JotForm website?

When you say email friendly, by what exactly do you want to do with the form?
You can do two things with jotform:
1. the system sends email notifications straight to your inbox when someone submits on your form
2. an auto responding script where when someone fills up and submits the form, jotform will immediately send an email to the person who filled up the form confirming that the system received the submission.
