How can I make a dropdown menu with multiple selections enabled behave like a regular dropdown menu?

    On this form: https://www.jotform.com/build/82626498469172

Is there a way to make the multiple choice 'type of certificate' drop down menu just like a regular drop down menu? After I changed it to multiple choice, it no longer becomes a drop down but just a scroll menu.

Also is there a way to eliminate the empty field / first row? Or should I just write my first option in this empty space?

    Thanks

Once you enable the MULTIPLE SELECTIONS feature, your dropdown will be rendered that way. User experience wise, your respondents will never be able to select multiple options on your dropdown if it will behave like a normal dropdown (thus explaining why multiple rows are needed to be displayed).

You can only decide between the two:

    1. Disable MULTIPLE SELECTIONS so you have a normal dropdown

    2. Or enable MULTIPLE SELECTIONS and have a dropdown with multiple rows

Another alternative is to use a widget instead. The CHECKBOX IN DROPDOWN widget may be what you're looking for.

Looks like you already figured out how to rename the empty option as (SELECT BELOW).
