Number field: validation error is shown before a user enters all digits

I have this form and the user is asked to enter an amount for donation.
I am using a "number" field.
"Amount of donation"

The minimum donation is 1000 Yen, so we added 1000 as the minimum amount for that field.

The problem is, as soon as the user begins to type, the message pops up saying, "input should be not less than the minimum value: 1000"

Well, any single digit is less than 1000, so as soon as you hit the first key, you get the intrusive message.

How can we avoid this, but maintain the minimum value?

Hello Bruce, We are very sorry about late response. Currently, number field is being validated the way you described and we do not have an option to adjust the behavior yet.

May I suggest to set minimum amount within payment field directly instead of using number field to capture donation amount? A payment field will show an error only if the user will go to next field after entering incorrect value.

One problem with that is that we have it set to hide the payment widget if they select "Bank Transfer" as payment method.
Any other work-arounds?

Don't most fields validate when you click away from the box?
Why is the number field so quick to alert?
I am surprised this hasn't arisen before.

I have checked an option of showing an error through conditions and it appears that numbers are being validated during the input in that case too.

Frankly, I can't see the point of having the function of minimum values if it is validated in this way. Terrible user experience, as I am sure you would agree.

I am hopeful and look forward to a resolution.

For now, this is my work-around.

I removed the limit on the number field.
I set a condition on that field to hide the Submit button if it is under the desired minimum. And a condition to show a message stating the minimum (donation) requirement.

Still hope you sort the validation experience on numbers though :-)
