I need a way of transferring or copying data from one form to another

    Hi,

I need to transfer some submissions from one form to another. I have, in the past, tried to use coping to a csv and coping from the csv. It was very messy and was not suitable for my needs as it has a very strange way of sorting the submissions. I need the users to be able to edit the submissions at some point.

The reason for this, my form 52745887899988 was the original and has submissions that are not completed yet. My new form 81646514559970, needs to have some means of editing the older submissions. When I created the new one I never took this into consideration and now I have a bit of a mess.

If you can offer a suitable solution or option that might help I'm ready to try it.

    Help needed, Robert

    Hi,

Not sure I need this right now so no rush... I will wait and see.

Although if you have any ideas I will still accept them.

    Best, Robert

You can try the Combine Submission app. After that, you can use the Spreadsheet to Form widget. Here's a guide: How-to-Use-the-Spreadsheet-to-Form-Widget

As for the Edit Submissions, You can now let users update an entry on a later date by following this guide: How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

If I misunderstood what you want to achieve, please let us know. Thank you.

    Hi,

So now I have the submissions I want from old form on a csv file.

I am familiar with sheet-2-form but not sure how I would use it here.

I use it for verifying there club numbers on another form. How would you suggest to use it for this issue?

I have the users using {Edit Submission} now. They actually come back 2 or three times.

    Thank you, Robert

I am sorry to inform you, but we do not currently have an option to move submissions from one form to another. Even if we somehow manage to copy the data (which may be also problematic), the submission IDs and corresponding edit links of the new entries will be different from the IDs of the original submissions.

    Hi,

Yes I understand. I think I have resolved the problem. When I made the new form live I created a link on the old form to it. At the same time I hide all the fields so no more entries could be made. When one of the users went to edit a submissions there were no fields to see so no edit could be made.

I have now removed the link and restored the fields view... The 11 users are now aware of what is happening so as long as no one creates a new entry on the old form we are OK, but I am a bit concerned.

    Thank you for your help,

    Regards, Robert

I think you have managed to do a workaround. Currently, that's the only option to hide fields so no one would edit the submission.
