Can I make it easy for a user to open multiple copies same form?

    Hi,

The ease of producing a simple-to-use form is great! However I do need some guidance with the following:

Our users may often fill out one or several copies of the same form in locations with no internet access, and may need to generate multiple forms in a day to record separate events. When they return to an office or internet-accessible location one or several days later they then complete the forms and submit them. How can I make it easy for a user to open multiple copies of the same form in a day, partially fill them out while out of range, and then complete these forms and submit? The device may run out of power while in the field, so there needs to be some way to re-acquire each individual copy of the form with the data already entered.

    Hi John,

It is also possible to use the form offline -- so the user can fill in the form even without internet connection. They can then submit the offline form later when internet is available.

You can use the Fillable PDF Form feature.

You can test my PDF form demo here: https://shots.jotform.com/jonathan/webtest/82837199825978.pdf

I hope this help. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply.  The PDF form option looks good, but it will not send the form after Submit is clicked.  Can you suggest why?  Also, not all mobile devices will have software to use fillable PDFs.  That is why I was particularly interested in the browser-based form as anyone can use it without installing additional software.  So it appears there is no way to use JotForm offline where one needs to initiate multiple copies of the same form for separate events, fill out each form, and later submit these potentially partly completed forms when internet access becomes available (and edit the form later if more information comes to hand).  I am hoping there is a way to do this even if not immediately obvious.

There is no current method to fill the forms offline within the browser. If you would like, I can submit this as a feature request to our Developer Team.

To address some of your concerns with the fillable PDF below:

The PDF form option looks good, but it will not send the form after Submit is clicked.

Once an internet connection is available, clicking the submit button will allow submitting of the PDF form. What the user would do is make many copies of the form and fill them separately without clicking the submit button. The number of PDF copies you can make would be unlimited. Once an internet connection is available you can then proceed to click submit on each of the saved PDFs with the data.

So it appears there is no way to use JotForm offline where one needs to initiate multiple copies of the same form for separate events, fill out each form, and later submit these potentially partly completed forms when internet access becomes available (and edit the form later if more information comes to hand).

All this can be achieved using the fillable PDF. Partially filled forms can be submitted too. Once an internet connection is available you can edit the submissions and add extra data from the submissions page online: https://www.jotform.com/help/269-How-to-View-Form-Submissions

That is why I was particularly interested in the browser-based form as anyone can use it without installing additional software.

This is a drawback for this method of filling the forms. A PDF editor is required on the device.
