Form waiting for submit.jotformeu.com and displaying 502 Bad gateway error

I am having the same problem when submitting any of my forms.

After clicking submit, there is a long wait while the browser says
"waiting for submit.jotformeu.com"

then, eventually, the 502 Bad Gateway - nginx" page is displayed.

NB. The form is still submitted, but the user gets no confirmation of this, and will sometimes try again, multiple times.
