I want to create an application, where an applicant will be uploading very sensitive information in large files to embed onto our website.

Asked by Zoe Roloff on January 17, 2013 at 12:27 PM

What are the file upload sizes per upload and per application?

When the files are uploaded, where are they housed? Does JotForm have to house them on their server? Once we download from the cloud, are they deleted forever?

What tracking capability is there  on the adminstartive end? E.g. ability to track in spreadhseet using export button? Email alerts to customer and adminstrator when form is complete?

    Hi there,

Here are the answers to your questions:

What are the file upload sizes per upload and per application?

We have a 1GB per upload limit

There are also space restrictions depending on the plan that you have.  You can see all the different plans on this page: http://www.jotform.com/

When the files are uploaded, where are they housed? Does JotForm have to house them on their server? Once we download from the cloud, are they deleted forever?

The submissions are stored in our servers.  You can download the files and delete them from our servers if you wish.  You can also integrate Dropbox or Google Drive to have a copy of the files sent to these third party services.  Here are a couple of guides to help you with that:

What tracking capability is there  on the adminstartive end? E.g. ability to track in spreadhseet using export button? Email alerts to customer and adminstrator when form is complete?

You can use a number of reports to track your submissions.   Here is a page to help you with that:

And all your forms can have as many notifications as you need.  Here is a guide on how to set them up:

You can set autoresponders to thank your users as well.

I hope this information is of help.  please take a look at the guides and let us know if you need further assistance.  We'll be glad to help!
