Required Address field: Form being able to be submitted even when the post code is not filled out

I have an address field on my form & only collecting Street Address, City, County & Postcode which is set to 'required'. All fields appear to be compulsory except for the Postcode (Postal/ZIP Code). Is this what's supposed to happen? I need to have the Postcode entered as it is used to calculate the distance to the school. Is there any way to make the field compulsory without separating it from the rest of the address?

I was able to replicate your issue and was able to submit the form without the post code. Ideally, this should not happen, since the postcode being part of the address field, should be mandatory if the address field is selected as required.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. I will forward this to our development team for check and will update you on this thread as soon as we receive a response.

Any progress with this? It appears not to have been fixed yet. The forms I have created require the Postcode to be compulsory, so I have had to inlcude a separate field for the postcode.

    Regards

Hello Alison, Unfortunately, the feature to require post code was not yet added to Address type of fields. Implementing features depend on the number of users awaiting, so I am creating another ticket on your behalf. It will be available here: https://www.jotform.com/answers/1711109

The first reply I got was ' Ideally, this should not happen, since the postcode being part of the address field, should be mandatory if the address field is selected as required.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. I will forward this to our development team for check and will update you on this thread as soon as we receive a response.'

This would imply that it is an error rather than an additional feature. I would be grateful if you could correct the error as soon as possible.

    Apologies for the first reply.

The POSTAL CODE requirement could not have been set as required when the address field was initially designed. Hence the request was escalated as a feature request rather than an error.

We will keep you posted on these updates as soon as we receive them.

    Thank you for your patience.

Our apologies for any inconvenience. We have added the request to our features to implement list, but still we can not promise any time frame on when this is implemented.

For now, post code subfield is not required for address element. If you would like to require input for that field specifically, I would suggest to collect post codes with separate field. For example, if you use a regular textbox (short text entry field), you should be able to mark it as 'required'.

If our developers will decide to change the behavior for post code subfield within address element, we will let you know via this thread.

OK - thanks - I've managed so far by creating a separate postcode field but it's not ideal...
