Can I make Submit conditional on having first printed the form?

Our Online form submission provides all the details we need to create a new account for a customer.

However, before we can transact any business on the new account, for legal reasons, we need a copy physically signed by the applicant and a witness, so we've added a Print button to the Submit action.

Is there any way to prevent the applicant from submitting the form until he's printed it (or can the completed form be saved as a PDF by the user before submitting it?)

Is there any way to prevent the applicant from submitting the form until he's printed it ...

There is a loophole on this steps. What if the user just Print the form without any data?

Isn't it better if the user submit the form first (so required data can be captured), then they can print after?

You can add PRINT button anywhere in the form that will allow the user to print anytime (before/after submit).

Thanks Jonathon.  You're right, it would be possible for the user to print a blank form - which is something of an anomaly, because it can't be submitted until all mandatory fields have been filled.  I think there's some potential for a design improvement here.

The problem I have is that, once the form is submitted,  it's no longer available to print.

The links you provided offer some helpful workarounds, although it would be nice to have a simpler way to ensure that the user prints the completed form prior to submission.

I'd also like to see an option to enable the user to save the completed form as a PDF before submitting it, as an alternative to printing it.

Unfortunately, there is no option to require the form to be printed prior to submission. Also, to generate a PDF file, the system would need a submission ID, it is also assigned after the form is submitted.

However, there is an option to attach a PDF submission to email sent to your respondent when form is submitted, would this work for you? How-to-include-submissions-as-PDF-attachment-in-the-email-notifications

I have reviewed your form and can see that you are using text area elements for respondents to sign. I can also suggest to check if e-signature fields would work better for the flow you are setting up: How-to-Add-an-E-Signature-to-Your-Form
