When Inventory Widget is Reducing Count?

I have configured the Inventory Widget, however, when testing the form and selecting an item, it does not reduce the quantity. Does the widget only reduce inventory once the form is submitted?

This is correct. The Inventory, as well as other slots widgets, will deduct an item when the form is submitted. This way next respondent will see updated quantity on the form.
