How to set up Save and Continue on forms?

    Hello,

I have the 'save and return' feature activated on both my forms ( Community Grants Application & the Smart & Caring Community Grant Application) and I have just received a call from an applicant who tried to return to their application to finish filling out the form however their information entered was gone.

Can you please help with this. Have I missed checking something?

    Thank you in advance,

    Amanda

Hello Amanda, I have checked your latest edited form and see that you have enabled browser Autofill on form. In general, this feature is saving form progress to browser cache locally on user's end. The data is saved for 24 hours or until user clears browser cache. You can find more information on this feature here: How-to-Enable-Auto-Fill-on-Forms

If a user has tried with different device or browser, responses will not be shown.

We have more advanced option to save form progress - to create session link for every user. In this case a user can access saved form via different devices/browsers from unique link they receive. For more information, please review next help article: How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,
Thank you for responding. I have ensured the Autofill is turned on, on both forms and closely followed the steps to set up the Save and Continue Later option. Could you please confirm why the forms are showing up blank after I have done all you suggested?
    Thanks in advance,
    Amanda

I have attached a screencast below showing me filling out the form and re-opening the form on other tab.

You can see that the information I've filled is autofilled on the other tab. Like what my colleague mentioned, the auto fill feature will work if you use the same browser. It will not work if you use incognito or private browsing as it depends on browser cache.

Check if your browser is set to automatically delete the cache https://www.groovypost.com/howto/automatically-delete-browsing-history-chrome/.

    Looking forward for your response.
