    How can I remove the close button from a lightbox form

    Asked by Beantopia on January 28, 2013 at 09:22 PM

    I need to remove the close button from a lightbox. I need the user to have to fill out the form before moving forward to the page. This will probably require me to also add an exit button within the Thank You Page.

    Hi,

    That's possible. Try injecting the following CSS codes to your page between <head> </head> tags.

    <style>

    div.jt-feedback.ui-draggable div.jt-title div {

    display:none !important;

    }

    </style>

    If this doesn't help, then the selector might be different with your form. If you can provide the form URL where the lightbox form is embedded, we can help you removed the close button.

    ---

    Regarding on the close button on thank you page. Add the following code to your thank you message.

    Click to <a target="_blank" href="javascript:window.close()">Close</a>

    We'll wait your updates. Thanks!

    The First code works like a charm. The second code in the Thank You window probably functions like it's supposed to.

    The only problem is that the form loads on pageload. Hitting the Close button now causes the page to reload so the Thank you page doesnt go away.

    Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Yeah, the 2nd code doesn't seem to work. Let me find another one and get back to you.

    Sorry about that =)

    Hi,

    By the way, how about using Custom URL as your thank you page? Just host your thank you message anywhere on your page and add the page URL on the Custom URL thank you box. Here's a more detailed guide: How to Redirect to a Page After Form Submission

    Kindly check, this might help.

    That would be the easy way to get it done. The only problem with that is the user would have access to a URL that did not require them to put in their email address.

    @Beantopia

    I see, so I think closing the lightbox is something you'd prefer. Unfortunately, there's no available function for closing the lightbox thru thank you page. However, let me find another work around to get this done. But, I couldn't promise anything since scripts is very limited with thank you message. Please consider the Custom URL for now while I am digging around for a solution =)

    Thanks!

    <style>

    div.jt-feedback.ui-draggable div.jt-title div {

    display:none !important;

    }

    </style>

    @jimmysyf

    Replace it to this.

    <style>

    body div div div > img {

    display:none !important;

    }

    </style>

    This should work.

    If you need anything else, feel free to ask it here.

    Can you please check this page:

    http://billyboy.al/banner/test.php

    i tried both of the <style> codes you have given but didn't work to hide the feedback close button.

    i'm using feedback2 for autoloading feedback form ...

    The reason to hide original close button is that I want the close button to appear after 10 seconds so i have to hide original close button and show it from flash file i'd created.

    I used flash actionscript to close the feedback form screen like:

    on (release) {
        getURL ("javascript:self.close()");
    }

    THIS didn't work either, if you can give me clue about it will be great too.

    thanks
