Our dropdown field is not keeping the selection

I am working on this form: https://form.jotform.com/90165517342959 and when I select a Faculty Chair, it doesn't keep the info in the field, but goes back to the default entry -- select a faculty member --. It does correctly fill in the faculty member email address based on the selection.  I can't figure out why it is not keeping the selection in that field.

You have one faulty conditional logic that updates the same field, Faculty Chair. I forgot to take a screenshot, but I've fixed that for you.
