Can I use my original encryption key on a cloned form?

I cloned a form that was encrypted and the submissions using the new form are therefore encrypted.

I have the key for the original form, but I do not get a prompt to use the key to un-encrypt the submissions using the new form.

Is there anyway of using the old key for the new submissions?

I just tested your issue and using your old key which was for the form you cloned from works on the clone. The prompt sometimes does not appear and you can try another browser, clear cache of your current browser or try using incognito mode for viewing your submissions.

To sum up, when you are asked for the key in your cloned form, just input the key of the original form and it should work fine.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

You may have the wrong key stored in your browser's local storage, you can try to clear the local browser storage, this is different from browser cookies, to delete the stored private key from your browser. Keep in mind though once you cleared the local browser storage your session cookies will be removed as well, which means that you will need to sign anew to websites and applications.

You can learn more about clearing web storage in your browser here.

If the issue persists feel free to contact us, we're happy to help.
