Using the PayPal widget, am I able to add a list of items for sale, as well as an option where members can add additional money they wish to donate?

It is possible to sell products and it is also possible to collect user-defined amount or donation with the PayPal payment field. However, those are two different payment types and cannot be combined in one payment field.
But, there is a workaround that you can do to have an "Amount" box combined with the products that you are selling. The workaround is available with the Sell Products payment type. You will create a product with for a dollar with a quantity option that is a textbox and has a "space" as the quantity label.
When you do the above instructions, the payment field will appear like this.
Then, we can apply CSS codes to the form to hide the checkbox on the left and the price ($1.00) on the right. — How-to-Inject-Custom-CSS-Codes
